    2012 S4 with silver mirrors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So most of the S4's we get have body colored side mirrors, and someone said the silver ones are an option for $1500 But we just got this in:

It doesn't seem like the price for the mirrors is on the sticker.

My 2012 was delivered with body color matching mirror covers, which I prefer BTW. My S4 also had the Titanium package.

That's because the Titanium package gets rid of them.

    X2. Don't like body colored.

+3 I wish I could have gotten the titanium package without the body colored mirrors. Although they look better in some colors than others.

With the amount of aluminum and silver alcantara i get in my base PP i'd expect silver mirrors.
Remember how people were going crazy about getting silver mirror covers when they
    released the RS4?

TO wake a dead thread, I am wondering if I should keep my side mirrors silver .. paint them black to go with the red and black theme or body colour them to red. Everyone always asks me your car is black and red (ever since I went with black wheels) why are the mirros silver I always say to match the audi rings haha I might keep them silver I like the different look I dont know what do you guys think if you had the option what would you do?

To respond the awoken dead thread....

I like the fact that my Ti Phantom S4 will have black mirrors. When you get the Ti package (or do some blackout or black wheels for that matter), the silver mirrors are all on their own..they look out of place and only match the rings. I would body-color or black the mirrors. You might be able to switch with someone who wants silver mirrors?

    @Kavan

I am also thinking about ditching the mirrors. Surely black plastidipped mirrors is a good place to start for you. No need to worry about matching the red and it's not permanent either.

I don't know man, the aluminum colored mirrors have been an s4 trademark for a long time, (at one time it actually was aluminum). I like to keep with tradition, keep the differentiation from A4.

The S4 also came with a 4.2 for a long while but I'm guessing you don't want to swap your 3.0T out for one do you?

If you like the silver mirrors, keep em, if you don't, paint em, but please don't stick with something for traditions sake.

C'mon really? An engine upgrade is business as usual. However the aluminum optic mirror housings have been a S4 trademark for the last 10 years...

Plus it matches the rest of the aluminum optic parts on the car.

10 years? IIRC the Ur-S4 and the B5 didn't come standard with aluminum mirrors. The aluminum mirrors started in 2003 with the B6 (you guessed it) the same time the 4.2 was introduced to the S4.

you could get Alu mirror covers on the B5, but I'm pretty sure it was an option or part of some option package.

If they match the aluminum optic parts on the car, then your car COMES WITH SILVER MIRRORS. I can't argue with matching the mirrors to the trim...and my black mirrors are matched to my black trim.

the aluminum mirrors came with the B5 as part of the Sports Package on MY 2001.5 & 2002, this was also the package that gave the silver alcantara (or nogaro alcantara) on black leather interior and the aluminum trim on the interior. The mirrors were also true aluminum though, there were aftermarket options that were just painted plastic...

i also think it is part of the S4, and shouldn't be changed but, to each his own... i think there could be plenty of "trading" going on here within Audizine, it seems for every one member who wants theirs body colored, there is someone that wants the aluminum mirrors... i smell a swap meat!!!!

Nothing wrong with having tradition and legacy, tradition and legacy are what makes a car classic. If I was fortunate enough to own any RS model, no chance I'd change those aluminum mirrors.

But whatever, to each his/her own. Really, comparing this to an engine change? Please don't change the red in the S logo to blue!
