I had a little time off of work, my wife, and school; So I went out to the local auto store and picked up some Red Engine Enamel by Duplicolor, and also some heat insulating stuff made by DEI. I wanted to do this for a long time but just never really got around to it.
I took off the engine cover, removed the rings (I should have prepped the lettering to have them painted too but I was so anxious to get it done that I didn't mask that part off, maybe sometime in the future I'll paint it but for now it's ok), then cleaned the engine cover with a little soap and water. Waited till it dried and painted one light coat, waited about 10 min. then another light coat, then another 10 min. with a medium coat. Painted the rings with a regular flat black paint, then glued it back on.
As for the heat insulation, It was just for piece of mind whether it actually helps with heat soak or not.
There's some blotting from the excess paint but I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome.
What do you guys think?
The pics are unedited, and I took them about 30 minutes ago on Program, so the pics are not anything special.
