Advice/feedback on an Endurance extended warranty

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey,

I'm looking to get a warranty on my Audi. I've searched the forum and got quotes from Fidelity and Endurance. The Endurance customer support and information was a better experience than Fidelity. Also, Endurance offered superior prices.

I'd like to know if people have Endurance and if they are happy w/the claims process, etc.

    The cost:
    Plan: XtraSupreme
    Term: 60/100,000 miles
    Total: 27xx
    # of Payments: 18 (~136/month)
    Deduct: $100
    Down: 273

I've attached a link (mr-sk.com/img/Contract.pdf) to the service agreement. I'd really appreciate it if someone with more knowledge would take a look and let me know if this is a solid agreement; will it really fix the stuff that needs fixing and will they pay? Or will they argue that the items don't fall into the agreement. I'm concerned about:

    - Chain tensioning / replacement
    - AC unit
    - Automatic transmission

Those are immediate that come to mind

The part that I'm really concerned about is this:
Our maximum limit of liability per covered component shall not exceed a total dollar amount as follows: Three Thousand Three Hundred ($3,300.00) in Engine claims; Two Thousand Two Hundred ($2,200.00) in Transmission claims; One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00) in Differential claims; Two Thousand ($2,000.00) in Air Conditioning and Heating claims; One Thousand Two Hundred ($1,200.00) in Electrical and Luxury Electrical claims; One Thousand ($1,000.00) in Cooling System claims; One Thousand ($1,000.00) in Fuel System claims and Three Hundred ($300.00) in Emergency Roadside Assistance claims.

So, if I need a new transmission, which could be a 4k job (Guessing, someone please correct me), I'm limited to them paying 2.2K...ok, I mean that's better than nothing and would basically pay for the entire insurance policy. Still though...

    Under engine it says:
    b) Timing belt;

I wonder if that applies to a timing chain as well?

I'm going to generate a list of questions and call them on Monday.

It is garbage. Those liability clauses stink.

OK - so, disregard the entire thing? Are you saying Endurance is garbage or ALL warranties offered by all companies are garbage?
My mechanic seems to have a lot of his clients (merc, porsche, audi, bmw) that use them and he had nothing bad to say about most of the companies. He runs a decent sized service shop.

Any more specific feedback you can give ZEUSROTTY?

Some members have great things to say about warranties and Endurance...so I'm going to have to take your feedback with a grain of salt unless you can give me something more substantial...
I've been searching the forums and I see two schools of thought:

    1) Save the money up (the ~3K) that you'd pay for the warranty and keep that for repairs.
    2) Get a warranty - it's stupid to own a B6 w/out one.

That's basically the gist of it IMO.

Spend some time with google. You'll find that way too many people get ripped off with these warranties. You'll also find that many are very shady, changing names, or going bankrupt.

I'm not saying they are all bad or that people haven't had luck with them but COUNTLESS people have been ripped off badly. One of the biggest tricks they seem to use is "wear and tear" clause. They seem to deny claims (even with parts covered on the contract) by finding a ways to call it wear and tear.

Go to google and type in extended warranty (company name) complaints. You'll see many many cases of denied claims that are shocking.

Sure - that's great. You'll find complaints about everyone and everything in the world on Google. I'm trying to get feedback on this company specifically from Audizine members and gauge their experience with them. Instead I'm getting no use posts about how bad these companies are, yet both of you guys don't seem to have any actual experience with these companies...(or else you decided not to mention it).

Basically, I can't get any good feedback here so I'm going to have to trust my mechanic who's been working with these companies for years.

Still doesn't help my original question. I'm looking for people ON Audizine that have experience with this company. That's all ...

    Continuing the search ....

@crabpot - I notice in another thread you talk about your choice of an extended warranty..what company are you using and how is the experience?

I bought an extended warranty, worth it simply for the peace of mind IMO.

Just because you take care of your car, dosen't mean you won't have something insanely expensive to repair fail on the car. (i.e. timing chain guides)

There are too many variables to really know if that's a good deal or not. I paid $2,800 for mine which started at 40k miles through 76k miles or three years, whichever comes first. My aftermarket warranty is through a different vendor than the OP though...

My warranty covers everything besides wear items (brakes, clutch, spark plugs, tires ... etc).

I have them for drivetrain pay a lil more than you mileage to 150,000. Flywheel separated new clutch etc ran 4900 they covered 2800 like they said they would. The adjuster was quick didn't hassle it. It does provide some peace of mind, which is nice considering how far open your wallet gets spread when something goes south w/ your 4.2 but you're gonna need that 3000 reserve in addition to policy...

This warranty doesn't seem worth it in my opinion. It appears there is a limit on repairs, which kind of defeats the purpose of a warranty.

Check aaa.com. Email them for a quote. You have to have a AAA membership which is ~$60/year, but that's not too bad.

Audi does offer an extended warranty, but you still have to have to be inside the factory warrany period.

United Car Care is who my warranty is through, but I haven't had to use it yet.

I am in the same situation, I spoke with the Endurance guys and they seem to be pretty good and all but when I asked them to e-mail me the coverage that they would provide for the option that they recommended, they said that until I buy the warranty they cannot e-mail me what is covered and what is not, I would think that if you want to sell something then you should be able to tell a priori what have you got in your bag. I have had contrasting views from many people and forums about extended warranties, so still debating if I should get one. Like bens, I am looking for some advice too. BTW what year and model are you thinking of getting a coverage for?
