Does the S4 have a fuel cut-off switch?

I'm new to this stuff, I remember my other car having a fuel cutoff switch... It would cut off the fuel when the tow truck moved it, or it would hit a bump hard enough to deactivate it...Do the Audi S4's have a Fuel Cut-off switch...

Not a kill switch, a cut-off switch? Like for safety purposes?

In the ECU we have seen an area called "Fuel Pump relay disconnect for crash detection". Something along those lines. There are all kinds of things. We have run accross it but never seen a need to look into the exact parameters that make it occur. We have also seen codes in the ECU sent from the airbag module.

So yes through the computer systems, nothing physical like an inertia switch that ford used back in the 80s or 90s. So if it was triggered you would have to clear codes and replace the airbag module. We had a wrecked car that we dismantled and just by disconnecting the airbag module we were able to get it to start.

Hope this clears things up. So yes you are safe in a wreck.

It is in the center console near the park brake handle from what I recall. If you just unplug it, clear codes it will start. I did that when we bought a wrecked car to teardown to test the motor prior to the complete part out.

I thought the airbag control module was farther forward in the center console, ahead of the shifter??

Almost every car kills fuel if you get into a serious collision.

The airbag module is right hurr:

and to give you a better perspective:

Took these when I did my platinum-->black interor swap on the 'ol A4. The module is in the same place on my 05 MT so don't think that's the special place for the Tip cars

It wasnt the "fuel cut-off" or the air bag module, now that I think of it my air bags didnt deploy, therefore not needing the airbag module. I checked the fuses and lo and behold, fuse #28 & #29 engine management and the fuel pump fuse. Replaced 'em and Bam! Music to my ears, it turned on.

Really thanks for all your help.
