Anyone familiar with NAC (National Auto Care) extended warranties?

I received a quote from them for my 2005.5 Audi S4 for 36 Months / 50,000 Miles $3,485.00. Anyone familiar with this extended warranty service? Seems like a good deal. It is an exclusion warranty. Thanks for any and all feedback!

That seems like a lot for three years. That's a big chunk of change for a warranty. If you take care of your car, it probably won't cost that much for repairs. I wouldn't pay for a warranty unless it came from Audi.

There are lots of repairs that are specific to Audi and S4 vehicles that a third party might not be familiar with. ie. the timing belt tensioner - a $20 part that costs $5000 to replace! If they cover that, it might be worth it - to hope the tensioner goes and you get a new motor - for a minor discount.

I personally think you're better off using the money to maintain your car properly.

Good luck and let us know how it works.

I bought an extended warranty, worth it simply for the peace of mind IMO.

Just because you take care of your car, dosen't mean you won't have something insanely expensive to repair fail on the car. (i.e. timing chain guides)

There are too many variables to really know if that's a good deal or not. I paid $2,800 for mine which started at 40k miles through 76k miles or three years, whichever comes first. My aftermarket warranty is through a different vendor than the OP though...

My warranty covers everything besides wear items (brakes, clutch, spark plugs, tires ... etc).

I say just put that $3,485 in the bank and use it if you need it. Then if you don't all is well. I don't trust them to pay if something fails. Especially if you plan to modify it.

Make sure you read the fine print. I checked out fidelity for my s4, after reading the terms and conditions it really doesn't seem worth it.
I would rather save my $ and use it for fixes when I need it rather than praying something expensive breaks under warranty.

Be sure to check the insurance rating of the underwriter. It's still no guarantee, but I bought an extended warranty (not for an Audi) a few years ago from Warranty Gold, which then went bankrupt and voided all the outstanding warranties. That, in a word, sucked.
Also, remember a warranty is really just an insurance policy on the mechanical parts of your car. And as with any insurance policy, it's really a gamble. In this case, you're betting that your car will have problems worth over $3485 in repairs in the next 3 years. Just a thought.

We sell NAC warranties at the dealership I am working in. I can't really say much about their coverage as of yet because we just started with them a few months back. But I can say that they are significantly less expensive than Easycare and Fidelity and they cover the same things in their top tier coverages. If you are interested I can quote you some figures anytime.

Bought mine with Passport a little over 2 years ago who I think is apart of Tier One Warranties. Paid $3500 for 48 months/60,000 miles (Good until 111,000 miles but I think the 48 months will be first). Used it on upwards of $2,500 of repairs so far and the local Audi dealership said they're one of the easiest companies to work with and pay within the hour. It's their all inclusive be all end all plan and even covers wear and tear items.
