With some luck this can become out higher low on the daily then we can continue higher. The market responded very well to the gap down so far.

Probably see more of this from other companies so they can pay out dividends in case the Fiscal Cliff doesn't pass. I think LVS just did the same thing recently:

Aw fudge, that large block trade i did in SCHZ recently triggered some stoopid SEC rule called Rule 13H-1
    http://www.faegrebd.com/13679

I'm supposed to register with the SEC now... ugh... Some new rule the SEC adopted after the flash crash...

Just got an offer from JPM for a back office corp development rotational program. Private Bank analyst class is "very full" so I'm thinking I might take it.

Sounds like a good program if they rotate you amongst departments. If they eventually dump you into their "broker" program, don't accept it....

Oh, FYI in the Wall Street world, once you're in the back-office, its extremely hard to get out to work in the front-office (trading desk).... Ask anybody who's in the business and they'll tell you the same..

Please tell me someone saw this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/1...small-business

Medbox, share price went from $42 to $215 before the company released a statement saying that was drastically overvalued.

To quote from the article; ‎"I'm thinking pot smokers shouldn't trade stocks," wrote one former hedge fund manager on Sunday.

Don't tell JPT or 1997GTX. They're convinced that you can raise taxes and it will raise revenue proportionately.

Yea, it seems like a good program. A little more support/accounting based than I'd like but I can't be too picky right now.

I have a good amount of contacts at JPM but if it never hurts to talk to more people. Yea, it's an operations rotational.

Yea, but I'm hoping that it will be a good transition between undergrad and graduate. I'm not trying to be on a trading desk, more interested in an investment management type role. We'll see though, gonna wait to read over the formal offer letter before I make any decisions - just felt nice to get that first offer on the table haha

hahaha love those. Over the summer one of the advisors was telling me how he was putting in a large option order for the hedge fund one day and as they put the order through it popped up on CNBC because it was a "large order for a specific contract for that security".

Dominant Price/Volume Relationship: NA (What's this)

There was no dominant price/volume relationship today. PUVU and PUVD both had ~1000 issues but neither enough to be dominant over one another. The take from this? A shit ton of stocks were higher today.

IBD Current Outlook: (Why is the trend important?) 1, 2, 3
    Confirmed Uptrend

    SPY - Weekly

    Market Uptrend

    SPY - Daily

Big upside reversal after testing an important level. A ~1.7% rally from the lows of the day to close near the highs. Market internals were bullish and it appears that we've created the higher low we've been looking for on the daily. QQQ regained the 200 day MA ever so slightly.

    SPY - 30 Minute

Yesterday we were left closing on the lows and looking for a test of the neckline of the IHS we broke out of. A gap down in the AM brought us that test. We undercut the neckline for ~30 minutes then roared higher in swift trade. This gives us our daily higher low and closing on the highs sets us up for more up side action.

Leading stocks behave well and while breakouts haven't been the best, they should improve as the rally stiffens. Headline risk continues as the political clowns give us lip service but it needs to be tuned out and we need to focus on price.

When I tell people that I work for myself as an equities trader I get the impression that they think I'm running around with Gordon Gecko suspenders and making huge trades. If they only knew that I was in my sweatpants making trades like the HTZ trade from earlier I think they'd be disappointed.

LOL... I was unemployed for 2 years during the 2008 credit crunch. I was day/swing trading to survive during those times. So, to prevent a gap of unemployment, i put "proprietary trader" on my resume during that time period.

When I was actively trading back during the crisis I got a weird call from Fidelity I think or it was on the behalf asking about my trading and everything. At first I was a lil skeptical about it but then they assured me it was a recruiting call. They said that they were watching my trading and was very interested in recruitment as I had a 10 to 1 win factor on trades over 25% (It was during the period of 300+ day swings) and that my account's activity was phenomenal (I was short/longing banks/GM/housing like it was my job) and I had to tell them that I was contracted to the Navy for 5 years...

since then my trading has slowed down but still active. Given that I am out on deployment I do covered calls and cash secured puts and pulling roughly 2% monthly on that without a loss so far in the past 18 months (Note: I do not sell the stocks that I am exercised until I have made my 2.5% ie the stocks lose value but I just write covered calls until they expire or exercised). It has been not bad but over the Christmas break i will be fishing with the daily options...oh i cannot wait.

I'm an idiot... I just realized what I was doing wrong. My bad.

I was comparing the amount of profit you made to the limit... not the share price to the limit...

Up over 8% to over $156. I have 10 shares. Anyone have any insight? I've been sitting on this for quite some time, bought @ $154 and then dropped with google.

I wouldn't make anything really now, but would free up a good bit of cash for other stuff.

I think you should still continue to hold this thing. Looks like it's about to get going real good.
