What are you guys getting in terms of Gas mileage? I drive 15 miles, 14 of which is interstate in my car, and i cant seem to get better than 20mpg roughly. Driving easy or hard, it doesnt seem to change all that much. I am thinking of swapping my air filter........i got my a3 CPO with 25k miles.

Mileage will vary. If you have a short trip half traffic/half interstate, lots of acceleration, you probaby will not hit optimum mileage from your car.
But perhaps have your car hooled up to vag-com see if something comes up?

Below is a related thread from Fourtitude

    http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthr...%28gasoline%29

Below is a sample of what my 97k miles 2007 2.0t dsg capable of. (401 best mileage on one tank) the photo below was based on an hour drive, mixed freeway and sidestreets but no har accelerations or complete stopped traffic

I have an '06 MY and I'm doing 100% city driving with lots of stopping at traffic intersections.
On average a full tank of gas will only last me between 500-550km (310-340 Mi) to the centre of the two red "empty" lines.

At the time when I was driving city with less traffic intersections I would get 550-600km (310Mi - 375Mi) per tank

so around 26MPG I think with conversion

My motor has 82,000km (51,000 Mi)
Car is completely stock, manual transmission.

City driving with very little highway time I'll roughly get 300-320 mpt on my 06 manual

I answer in this thread as well, I am probably in the thread tip link'd in.

My 06, I averaged over 28mpg, dsg, last 18 months, APR stage 1 and coils.

    My 09 Quattro, I am averaging over 27mpg . . . I drive like a grandma 75% of the time, the other 25%

My drives are about 50/50 highway city.

I am really scared of you guys getting less than 25mpg, something has to be wrong with your car or you drive it like you stole it, all the time

I average about 22 overall, but driving to work (which is almost all highway) I average 29/30mpgs. It all depends on how I'm driving. Millage goes down quick if you drive "spirited"

i know this thread is for 2.0T, but in my 3.2, is it unusual for me to average 22-25mpg, then getting the same mpg while towing a trailer?

    MPG

even with all the mods (exhaust, intake, chipped, APR HPF, etc) I still get solid 24mpg and sometimes higher and I do not drive lightly. I have found that calculating the actual based on consuption averages at about 25 in mixed driving.

Damn i must have something wrong. Since posting this i filled up. Took a 110 mile trip on the interstate. The light will be on within 5 miles and i am currently at 273 miles on the tank. I have been shifting at 2500-3300 rpms on 90% of my shifts trying to get good mpg's out of it. Still when i fill up tomorrow, i bet i only get 21-22 mpg. And roughly a quarter tank was on hwy with cruise set at 75.

Are you filling up with 91 octane?

When was your last oil change?

ohh and try shifting at 2100 rpm..

My first 3 weeks of owning my 2011 A3 and already put 2,000 miles on it. Luckily, i get 32.4 MPG downhill to LA and 28 MPG uphill back up.

x2. This engine has tons of torque at low RPMs, and is unlike normal 4-cylinder engines. Shifting at 2500 rpm is too high for fuel economy. 3000 is way too high. I have DSG and it lives in the 1500-2000 RPM zone. I get 24-26 mpg in mixed driving. 26-30 highway. Regular gas will also yield worse mpg than 91 octane.

    I have 07 A3 @ 49k miles, all stock - got it CPO at 45.5k miles.

I get just about 30 mpg average combined (about 60% highway) with 6 speed - I seem to fluctuate between low 29.x and high side of 30.x's depending on how I'm driving. This includes a trip to red-line on 1,2 and 3rd gear almost everyday merging on the highway....if I do it both to work and from work, I will be on the low side of 29. I try to keep using brakes to a minimum, and maybe that helps.

Tried shifting at low RPM, but that doesn't work for me because I end up getting on the gas pedal more so it is a wash. I shift at about 2600-2800 rpm so I won't bog down on the next gear, which is going to be at around 2200 rpm. When you shift is important but how much you get on the gas is also important.

T FSI, it's a 2006 that I'm changing the thermostat on right now (complete PITA, but I'm not shelling out 2-300 bux for somebody to do it for me). 25-30mpg in Dallas rush hour traffic is common. The open highway yields 35-40.

    Updated Mileage

After doing some basic maintenance consisting of denso iridium ik22 plugs, napa air filter, and running some rli bio plus fuel treatment, I now get 27-32mpg in the city and 40-45mpg on the highway. I wasn't able to get the thermostat swapped, but will get it when I change the timing belt as it'll be much easier to access then. I'm doing a few other things to reduce frictional losses and will hopefully improve on the mileage a bit more, but I'm ecstatic for where it is at now.

I have swapped the Air Filter and I am still getting about 19 city and 24 max hwy. It seems to me that each of those are about 3-5mpg too low. I am going to look at my spark plugs and fuel filter next.

At a steady 60mph I've been able to achieve 40-44mpg which shocked me. On my 30 mile route to work (LA freeway with traffic) it generally fluctuates from 26-34mpg. The best I've had combined at the pump was 26mpg.
    Good luck!

Just did San Francisco to LA last night, 4 people, full trunk, AC, and hour and forty five minute road construction backup traffic...31 mpg. Car is 2007 2.0t 6Mt with 37k miles. Just had oil changed before I left and tires are at 40 psi. I did a lot of passes at about 90 mph so I was pleasantly surprised with my results. Mixed driving I'm getting 24-26 mpg.

I usually get 310 miles to the tank, I fill up at least once a week and I keep a close eye on my miles left in tank gauge.

I know its bad for any car but does anyone else let it go down to 0 miles left on the tank to fill up?
