There is NO relay for the headlights. The exterior lighting is all controlled (switched) by the Central Electric Control Module. Why do you ask?

My high beams won't turn on at all now. Could it be a switch? Or do I need a new CECM?

Anybody? I'm going to order a new control module. Is this an easy change?

Did you check the bulbs first? Never want to look over the simple stuff!

    Are we discussing your '09 A4? or a B6 A4?

Jason, the module you linked to is not the module the OP needs. The headlight range controller is not involved with the control of the headlight high beam or low beam lamp power supply. The range controller only adjusts the beam elevation angle based on the suspension position sensors. The headlight power is switched on and off by the Central Electric Control Module, aka, "Onboard Supply Control Unit". The required PN depends on if the OP's A4 is a B6/B7 or B8.

Yes, relatively easy. You need to disconnect the battery negitive cable from the negitive battery post, then remove the driver's side lower dash cover above the pedals, then remove the two 8 mm hex bolts from the fuse panel and move the fuse panal aside, next disengage the harness connectors from the module, then remove the two 10 mm hex nuts that secure the module behind the fuse panel. Install the new module using the reverse steps. On a B6/B7, the CECM is located above the horizontal row of relays inboard and slightly forward of the fuse panel, and has three harness connectors plugged into the module.

I get an intermittent Headlight Sensor code, something about ground when I do a complete VAG-COM diag, I erase it and it goes away. I do notice that I get the headlight warning thingy every now and then when I drive through some shade and then out to brightness again. Does anyone know where that sensor is, so I can check it out? Sorry to threadjack...:)
