    Seatbelt chime codes

    I changed my software coding number to 0023259 like the walk-thru states to do and it successfully eliminated my seatbelt chime! Yessss!

    ..... everything was great for a moment, until I realized my fuel gauge started acting up. Now, no matter how much fuel I have the low gas symbol is displayed, even if it says I have 150 miles to empty the light is on. Also I am not 100% sure but it seems my fuel needle isn't completely accurate.

    Simple fix right? Just change the coding back to the original numbers. Well... lucky me lost the numbers that I wrote down. I reverted back to the thread where I got my information: (The $20 eBay VAG-COM Cable Walkthrough *Revisited*) to find the original coding of 0023261. I punched those numbers in and my seatbelt chime turned back on, but I still have the low fuel light problem!

    I am really hoping that someone in here knows the right code to fix my fuel light problem and remove the seatbelt chime or or just revert it back to original and fix the fuel light and keeping the seatbelt chime on. Thanks guys!

    the seat belt chime + fuel have nothing to do with each other.

    I would use your old coding which you posted and just change ONLY the value you changed before as you should have only changed one number to disable your seat belt. I never like to use other peoples coding since not every car has the same options, things enabled, etc.

    Not entirely true, because the coding contains a code for the fuel tank size. If he changed that, it would explain the incorrect readings...

    Prolly changed the car to have the added tank volume. VCDS shows the byte sizes to change the values. Figure out which change u need to make and just add up the proper byte values.

    I would try to go here and rebuild your original code per your cars options and drivetrain.

    My guess is you need to add or remove 1 from '23' The only change for the seatbelt would be changing the second to last digit from 6 to 1

    0023261 would be...
    23= (This is a sum of options, likely 16+4+2+1 = 23)
    2 = USA
    6= USA Seatbelt Warning
    1= Standard

    23259 would be...
    23 - Same as above sum of some options.
    2 = USA
    5 = USA Seatbelt Old
    9 - Not sure what 9 would be..

    maybe I was not clear, I apologize. The coding for seat belt reminder/chime has nothing to do with the fuel consumption, gauge or anything. There is no possible correlation between both, if there was everyone would be experiencing this same issue. It is possible, I am no master for vcds, that for the line of coding under the instrument there is something related to fuel, which OP may have changed on accident that would explain why he is experiencing his problem now OR it could be coincidence that his fuel sensor or other fueling issues are going bad the same time he decided to change this coding.

    Is there a way to set all codes back to stock? Some sort of reset button?

    No - stock depends on what options were installed at the factory and so stock for Car A may not be the same as for Car B.

    However it's pretty easy to look at the various settings and determine what the most basic ones should be set to, and then start to add changes from there.
