BFI - Audi B6/B7 Performance Snub Mount

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

We are proud to announce our new BFI Performance Snub Mount! After a lengthy design, testing and production process, we are finally able to offer the best snub mount available to B6 / B7 Audi owners.

The factory snub mount is a well known weak point of the engine isolation system in your B6 or B7 chassis Audi. Made of a soft foam rubber, the OE piece is great for initial comfort, but lacking in longevity and performance. The factory rubber snub mount is notorious for cracking failing causing those mysterious and annoying clunking sounds coming from your drivetrain.

Our Performance Snub Mount is constructed of noticeably stiffer polyurethane (75a) vs. the factory rubber mount. Our parts are designed to stand up to the abuse of hard or even just spirited street driving. Reduce your engine movement and improve shifting with this economical upgrade!

Nice to see another option. I went with the Neuspeed unit, which was $30.

Looks like a quality product. I've already got the Audiup Race Red Snub mount or I would give this a try.

ECS one is nice. There isn't a HUGE difference but I did notice a little more suddenness when I get on the throttle. I don't know the density rating. But I just unbolted the mount and slipped the old one off and the new one on.
YES, I re-used the stretch bolts (they're green). Kill me now.

What's the difference in this and the Neuspeed Snub? I am between these 2 but skeptical of this one only because there are no reviews yet.

I think you'll find that both with be good. There's really not much to these things, so it's really just about your personal preference, availability, etc... I got mine at the same time as some other Neuspeed pieces, so it just made sense.

When mounts are replaced with stiffer urethane it limits how much the motor can move due to its hardness, IE: it doesn't flex or distort as much as a softer mount. This in turn improves gear box feel and helps get the power to the road.

I actually bought it from Sleeper (Tim) on here. He has them listed in the classifieds. I guess he has a shop or knows someone that has a shop and can make these. As high a quality polyurethane can get lol.

Not trying to thread jack, just clarifying a couple of questions.

BTW, BFI's looks like a high-quality product. People should snag it up and post a review. Keep up the good work BFI!!

You drop the belly pan, take off 3 bolts, slip the old one off, slip the new one on, bolt it back up.

You could definitely handle it. Like |IRatI| said, it's just removing the belly pan and removing a few bolts from the assembly. Old ones pulls out and new one goes in. Bolt back up and you're done.

Yeah, amazing how easy installation is. Only tough part for me was getting the new mount on the arm completely, but 30 secs in microwave and a little elbow grease did the trick....

Is there a reason why you designed yours round like the OEM, as opposed to the nusepeed snub mount which is square and fits exactly in the mount??? just wondering which is better..

We did test some other designs that filled the mount completely, but we found that they offered little to no performance difference (since most of the engine movement is up and down on the y axis relative to the mount), but it resulted in an increase in vibrations. Thats why we ultimately went with the round shape.
