18x8 Wheels on stock suspension...what tire size?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I currently have stock 17s on 235/45/17 tires. Decided to go with 18x8 rims with a 35mm offset and debating between 225/40/18 or 235/40/18. Any suggestions on what would look best? Doesn't have to be one of the two sizes above, just wondering what size tire would look the best on a b7 with stock suspension without any fitment or speedo issues. Did some searching and most cars are dropped.

    Thanks.

you could either way. you might want 235s on there to fill out the width of the wheel well. also you will have more rubber to the road for a bigger car (than my b5 with 225s).

oem titanium package 18x8 rims come with 235/40/18. Mine currently have 215/40/18 but only because I was rubbing after I lowered it

I would stick with the OEM tire size 235/40/18

You're on stock suspension so I don't see why you would run with a 225..

Sir, please do search around as there are bajillion threads regarding this kind of topic :P

However, I would suggest lowering your car first. Either some aftermarket spring/shock combo or some coilovers
You might think changing your wheels will improve your look, but instead.. with your stock suspension, it'll make your car look worse. Even lowered on stock 17s will look better than new wheels on stock height.
As for tire size, 235/40/18 is the standard. It really depends what kinda look you want.
245/40/18 is the size maximum to go up to without rubbing issues I believe.
215 and 225 has a little bit of stretch if that's the stance you want.

Got it. I'd like to stay away from lowering the car and it seems all the pictures I've found on this forum and others have cars that are either lowered or at least have the sport suspension. These are the rims are looking to put on my car. Thoughts on how it'd look with 235/40/18 tires without dropping it?
