Bosch 52lb Injectors VS Seimen Deka 60lb Injectors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, I'm planning on piecing together my fueling for my tune and I was wondering which is better the 60lb injectors or the 52lb injectors? I hear some people have problem with the spray pattern of the 630cc Seimen Deka Injectors, is this true? Could you guys give me some pros and cons between the two. I would really appreciate it, thanks!

The Bosch EV14 injectors have a much better spray pattern and have become the injector of choice for the B5 S4. I also believe they can be run as a 60lb injector with a certain fpr...

It's not the spray pattern, but something that ME7 doesn't like about the Siemens 60# injectors...

That said, you might as well go with the EV14's... they seem to be better suited.

I've had both setups.. The Dekas that I pulled out had no problems at all (so I thought) and when I switched to the EV14s @4bar (60lb/630cc) I noticed much smoother around town acceleration, a more controlled idle, etc. I would certainly choose the Bosch injectors over the Dekas. What happens to the Dekas is over time they begin to spray at different rates. If you can find flow matched Dekas, you'll be fine, but you'll also be spending what you will on the Bosch set.

Not necessarily, lots of people including me runs them without hats. But if you really want them, you can probably get them from any tuner. What you will need though are connector adapters since they use different style connectors than stock/dekas.

Okay, so I where would I look for these connector adapters exactly? Sorry I'm a noob at this fueling stuff. Also how much do they cost? I want to plan out my budget, it sucks being 19 lol.

You need USCAR to Jet-tronic adapters. You can get them from Integrated Engineering. They are ~$10 a piece.

FWIW I had to run hats to get my injectors to seat properly. I think it depends on the car. Some B5's need them, others do not.

From the guru Scott at USRT talking about the EV14s:

They have faster-responding/stronger solenoids, can withstand higher fuel pressures, emit smaller droplets, come in custom form factors, are lighter, and lastly are less expensive to manufacture. That's it in a nutshell.
They're hands down the best in these cars all around which is why big name tuners are now including these with their fueling kits. You can run them up to 8 bar according to some and because of the superior atomization you could even gain better fuel economy compared to the Deka's.

If you buy them from Integrated Engineering or 034 or any of the common VAG tuners they will sell you the harnesses with them.
The ev14's are awesome man. you will be impressed.
I'm betting with your setup you'll drop them in and see an instant improvement in accel/decel, and probably idle too

Didn't someone here find that the gt500 runs the same injectors for half the price?

I googled " GT 500 stock injectors" and it says it is 52lb but I don't know if its BOSCH or not? If so can anyone confirm this because I would love to get these injectors for even cheaper.

Looks like the same injector but around the same prics, maybe a bit cheaper.

Nice find Steve. One thing to note is that EV-14s can come in various lengths even if they have the same # rating. So the question is more will these be the right length? and if not are they longer or shorter and what size spacer is needed? I remember reading that stock injector length differs by the manufacture year. I dont remember which way it goes. I think 2001.5 and 2002 has longer injectors as they dont need spacers for the Deka's. Maybe I am wrong, can someone confirm this?

    The injectors above are
    Overall Length: 65.5mm
Dimensions: 48.5mm o-ring seat to seat, 53.5mm o-ring centerline to centerline

I know that this is an older thread but I was doing some searching as I am looking to replace my deka 630cc injectors with ev14's. I am sick of the misfires I get at idle which triggers a CEL every few days and that is my main reason. Sure I could just disable misfire recognition at idle but I feel like the idle isn't as smooth as it could be. And you mentioned an improvement in decel, which is funny because my S4 does something strange and nearly impossible to explain when I start to decel but then put barley any pressure on the gas pedal, lets say the smallest amount possible. It doesn't feel like the car is misfiring or anything but it just feels "off" again very hard to explain and you would have to drive the car to ever notice it. I am hoping that replacing these injectors will solve that and my misfires at idle. The car runs amazing at WOT, it pulls so hard I still say holy shit to myself every time, but I am only going WOT maybe twice a week LOL, this is my daily driver and if I can make it feel more refined during idle, partial acceleration and deceleration then replacing the injectors is worth it!

My man trust me. I ran the 60lb DEKAs at first they idled like SHIT. I ended up getting the 52LB EV14s with the adapters and dont forget the injector hats. It idled like butter, better gas mileage and the car ran so much smoother. Also the links above are very helpful and saves you alot of money if you piece them together yourself.

Awesome to know! Always great to hear from someone who has made the switch and noticed a huge improvement. Also great to know that the car felt smoother as that is exactly what I am looking for. My idle isn't terrible, esp in warmer weather but then again I think about how my old B6 A4 used to idle haha and it feels like shit in comparison. Granted my A4 was bone stock performance wise, but still I feel like I should not be hearing the misfires through my exhaust every few seconds, that is just not right.

Yup exactly, EV 14s will do the trick, better fuel mileage and throttle response too from what I noticed if you're tuned properly for them. By far the best upgrade I did on my old stage 3.

Shops and tuners will say you do so they can make money. No, they aren't absolutely necessary. I don't run them and I have no issues.

It all depends on which EV 14s you buy. Some are shorter than other depending what car they're made for. The smaller EV 14s definitely need the injector hats.
