    Fuel filter replacement

Just wanted some insight from other members on the forum. How do you replace the fuel filter on a B8 Audi A4 2.0TFSI Quattro? I know the filter is in the fuel tank, but I dont know if the fuel tank has to be dropped, or if there is a service port somwhere in the trunk or underneath the back seat, or even somthing else.

Slightly off-topic, but while we're on the subject of fuel... does anyone know if the dealership's fuel injector cleaning service is actually worth it? I'm imagining it's just another scheme to get more money from customers.

I definitely don't think the fuel injector service from the stealership is worth it. Also, if the B8 is anything like the B6, the fuel filter is underneath the passenger side rear of the car. Once your remove the plastic shield you can access it, however I do remember that the clips that hold the fuel lines in place were fragile and annoying to work with. How many miles are on your car? I heard a buzzing around 50k and replaced mine.

Currently the car has about 73K miles. I already got underneath the car and removed the all the plastic, the fuel filter was nowhere to be found. So I called ECS tuning (thats who I got the fuel filter from) and they told me that the fuel filter is located in the fuel tank. ECS also called there parts supplier to confirm this, however they did not tell me where the service port was located for the fuel filter. Im just trying to determine if there is a service port or if the gas tank actually has to be dropped.

I think you access it from the trunk. Remove the felt trunk bottom to expose the metal.
Looks like there is a hatch there.

Why do you think the filter needs replaced? I believe it is a non serviceable filter and is more like a screen right?

I just replaced mine, it's located beneath the rear seat. I followed a DIY posted on this forum...that I can't seem to locate at the moment lol
