Annoying rattle, goes away when i apply the brakes...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
And I'm super pissed because I can't seem to find this one my own (thus this post), but it's at any speed over bumps (small or large) a metal clanging/rattling sound. As SOON as I touch the brake pedal, whether a little or a lot of pressure, the rattle IMMEDIATELY goes away until I let off the brake pedal.

Could this be anything other than something in the brake components?

Front End Parts/Info (less than 4k miles):
All new upper control arms and tie rod ends
Hawk pads, resurfaced rotors, stock calipers, new brake fluid
New front axles (drives side china one blew up a while back, now tight n no leaks)
H&R sports/Billsteins (all bolts high n low seem snug as hell)
034 street tranny mounts, and 1 tranny bracket has a small crack (don't think this is the culprit)
    APR Snub Mount
Brake shields and axle shields are all tight as hell

Anyone? What the heck am I not seeing? It's annoying as hell. Maybe a bolt on the brake carrier? I'm 99% sure we tightened everything up when we did my brakes...as usual any help is appreciated!

stock wheels, stage 2, complete TB job recent...just trying to list as much about the car as I can...it's probably something simple that I'm missing. You can hear it all the time with windows down, not hear it with them up...

    anyone?

im pretty sure my problem has to do with the bushing on my coils going bad or collapsing springs but I have the same type of rattling sound. I put the car on a lift and banged against the springs and it made teh same rattling noise...I can also moe the spring with my fhand 2 inches up. Maybe you have the same thing going on...

I've had the car up, and the suspension is super snug. I've installed quite a few suspension on B5's, so I don't "think" that's it. It's just very odd that the noise COMPLETELY stops when the brakes are applied.

Does yours continue to rattle when the brakes are applied wan2play?

are you missing any retaining clips? The rattling may be the pads moving around in the caliper(I have seen this before) Dont forget to check the rear brakes as well.
