To those who have also converted their allroad to spring using Arnott's kit...

how long does this kit take to settle!? They say the car rides on "level 2" height but mine seems to sit at level 3+... which is SUPER annoying. I have waited and waited and waited and waited and waited for this thing to settle... it hasnt seemed to at all. I can post pics when I get home, but does anyone know if arnott makes a shorter spring? I LOVE the ride quality with this newest updated kit, but the height blows.

On my other cars, it would take a week or so to fully settle. It shouldn't take that long, how long have they been on the car?

Miles shouldn't matter, the springs are always supporting the weight of the car. They should be settled by now, after the month.

The whole concept of springs settling is, I think, a myth. Springs are just that - springs. A given load M will compress the spring some distance X governed by X=k*M where k is the spring constant. That being said, if your height is not where you want it after any extended period of use, either there was something wrong with the install, or the springs are the wrong dimensions.

The only 'settling' a spring may do is nestle itself into its perches and bushings. But .. that's it.

Im with him. after countless suspension installs on various cars, the only "settling" that occurs is from a car being jacked off the ground, then sat back down. Because of the nature of the suspension, the friction on the tires can bind a suspension from fully settling into place. This all "settles" out after a few rotations of the wheels.

I have the arnott conversion kit with bilstein struts. I'm riding at level 2 I would say. Has been that way pretty much since I installed the kit. MY springs are way too soft for my liking. After 2 other sets of springs that kept bottoming out on some roads, Arnott sent me these last ones. They are stiffer than the first two sets, but I think they could be a tad stiffer and lower.

I just got tired of dealing with arnott and paying to swap out the set. So I left it as is since I no longer bottom out and that is the most important thing I guess.

Air spring doesn't settle. The height is fully controlled by level sensors and regardless if you have OEM or arnott springs or 1/2ton of stuff in you car the system will always stabilize the car at the predetermined height for each of its levels. he height being a distance from center-of-wheel to fender edge which on level 2 should be 402mm by factory specs.

Have you by any chance changed tires recently too? If somebody installed wrong sized tires (smaller), the levels would seem to be off but in reality the car would still maintain exactly the same center of wheel to fender edge height as before.

There is also a possibility that while installing the springs somebody moved the sensor arms or their mounting brackets around and didn't put it back on right.

If everything checks out, I would advise you to do 402 mod on it.

I believe he swapped the air suspension for their conversion kit. so 402 mod and such is not applicable.
