would this work with our cars? I am waiting for my grids to come in soon and was thinking about this and using lug nuts instead of wobble bolts. Would this work?

here is the issue, the bolt holes on the grids are for m12 bolts, we use m14. Also the bolt pattern on the grids are 5x114.3 vs the audi 5x112. So if you use those bolts, you still need to drill out the bolt hols to 5x112 on the wheel because the stud positions will be 5x112. All these studs allow you to do is run m12 tuner lugs that you see commonly on jdm wheels. Though if you find wobble nuts with an m12 internal thread. maybe this will work, but i haven't researched wobble nuts much.

Also if you try and run wobble bolts, you still need to open up the holes to about 16mm from what i believe they are 14mm right now, because you need 14mm wobble bolts, and they won't go through the holes in the wheels.

Jhm sells stud conversions that look like it stays m14 on both sides if I were to do it I would use those.

should be fine, don't see why this would cause vibration.

what he said is true, BUT... I'm running 5x114.3 with using the OP's method.
Is it safe? I would say hell yeah, with proper hub rings... I've gone 85 mph with no vibration at all. (remember, the hub takes all the weight of the wheel, not the bolts/nuts)
Are wobble nuts necessary? No, they're about $80 more than regular lug nuts, but hey... some people like that peace of mind and I don't blame them.
But I definitely say no to wobble bolts, they won't fit the sleeve of the wheel and re-drilling sometimes looks like shit.

Drill the wheels to m14. Get a m14 to m12 stud conversion. Run said wheels with said setup. Case solved.

I'm pretty sure the rota grids are already drilled to m14.. I know my Rota G Forces were.

Using wobble bolts, you'd have to drill it out another 2mm to m16 to give the wobble bolts enough room to.. well, wobble... as Dangler stated.

I ran conversion studs last year with my friends GSR wheels, 18x8.5 - 5x114.3 with 245/40-18 and his stock lug nuts and the car ran just fine. Ran well over 33.5mph and no shakes or shimies...
