head gaskets or valve cover gaskets? Never seen a 3.0l head gasket fail so i think you are mixing the two up

in any case, the valve covers should be torqued to 10 ft.lbs.

Need the torque value for the head bolts not the valve cover.Bought the car with a failed cam timing belt gear and haved changed the heads need to torque to final value of torque to yield bolts and do not want to strip threads in aluminum motor block.

the Bentley manual seriously doesn't give you the torque value for the 3.0 headbolts??

well, if they're the same as the 1.8T (which they probably aren't) it goes

    40nm
    60nm
    90* turn
    90* turn

    268/260 cams

I found this in bentley after searching for, maybe 1 minute:

Tighten cylinder head bolts in 3 stages in the tightening sequence shown as follows:
Using torque wrench, tighten to 40 Nm.
    With Torx key, 90 degree ( 1 / 4 turn) additional turn.
    With Torx key, 90 degree ( 1 / 4 turn) additional turn.

for posterity, there is also a loosening sequence for the head bolts. Also in the bentley manual.

The following text didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling (in case someone gets their heads redone by the dealer):

Cylinder heads with cracks between the valve seats, or between the valve seat and the spark plug threads, can continue to be used without reducing the service life, as long as the cracks have a width of max. 0.3 mm, or only the first 4 threads of the spark plug threads are cracked.

    Funny!
A spec for allowable head cracks.

The manuals description of setting the cam lock tool isn't very clear either it talks about setting one set of cams so the lobes point toward each other but makes no mention of how the other side is aligned
