    Subwoofer not working, no fuse?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I just got my B8 sedan and notice no difference as I adjust the subwoofer output. I think it's out, zero movement/ sound from it when I opened the trunk and checked. I tried to locate a fuse to see if it's blown but doesn't seem to have an individual fuse for the subwoofer. Am I right? What could be wrong? Thx!
(yes I searched "subwoofer," "subwoofer fuse," "subwoofer not working," and just see bunch of upgrading posts :)

You say you just got it, so why not ask the dealer to check it out under warranty?

did you reach in and make sure the harness didn't mysteriously come lose? maybe it wasn't 'clipped' in from the factory and rattled itself loose.

Speakers don't have fuses as they don't have any power connected to them. First thing I'd do it grab a multimeter and check the impedance at the speaker.

to be fair, sometimes someone else's first hand experience can help remedy a situation without requiring an appointment / drop-in / drop-off to the dealership. i donno about you, but i don't particularly love the QUATTRO CAFE.

THERE. IS. NO. FUSE. FOR. THE. SUB. If the AMP fuse was bad then NONE of the speakers would work.

He sounds like he has no clue what the problem is or how to fix it, which is obvious from him thinking it might be a blown fuse. Rather than risk further damage, I'd just take it in and let the dealer fix it. Everyone has their own answer, and unfortunately that's the best I've got!

Maybe he doesn't like to repeat himself when what he said is two posts up. I know I can get frustrated sometimes when it doesn't look like people bother reading the posts already made.

But if this was who wants to be a millionaire I'd go with Blake as a final answer. But can't blame someone for trying to find an answer or common concern before loosing his car for a day.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input! No Vag cable, did read manual and no specific fuse for sub, will check the harness connection. Audi Cafe? Ha, "sounds" cool : )
I was just hoping there's some commonly known simple fix to this issue. Eh, no cigar, I guess...but hey, I'll let yall know what I find out at the end. Worse come to worse, it's under warranty : ) Cheers!

I had my amp pop bass on and off...as there is no gain for the amp it does however have a sub out can't remember the color of wires for both high and low gain. I did notice unplugging the harness from the river driver side trunk panel) reset the sub...but then again I just disconnected it al together and installed aftermarket and piggybacked and amp for the new sub. I know that doesn't solve your problem but I wanted to share. And q-sound is right by saying if the fuse was out that no speakers would have sound as the fuse controls the entire amp and the amp controls all speakers. The harness fornthe sub itself is tucked up there behind the metal between the two openings at the bottom of the decklid... carefull its kinda sharp, it cut me once. When all else fails take it in. Good luck to you.

Because it irritates the crap out of me when you take the time to point people in the right direction and then people that have no idea how to troubleshoot electronics ignore that and continue down the "check the fuse" path. Look at my post previous to the one you quoted. If he'd have done that he'd have known in about 10 seconds if it was a problem with the speaker or the amp.
