    A4 B8 Wheel Offset?

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi, I have a stock Audi A4 2010 2.0L Quattro. I am purchasing new rims called MAM RS1's. They don't make these wheels with an offset of 35 the only other options are 30 or 45. Will ET 45 fit my car or will the tires rub?

    The bigger the offset, the more then stick in, not out. For example, the Sport Pkg 18s are ET47.

    I think ET30 would be fine.

    Is there a significant difference between ET30 and ET45? And which size do you think would look better?

    OMG

    BEFORE MISINFORMATION CONTINUES I WILL INFORM YOU.

    Wheel offset doesn't mean shit without knowing the width of the wheel.

    et 30 will not work very well on 255's. et45 will look sunk in. You can either get the et45 run spacers, or get the et30 and have potential rubbing issues

    They're 245's not 255's if that changes anything, I found a thread with the exact rims I am looking to purchase but I cannot tell if the ET45s have spacers or not. Check it out, http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-b8-from-spain

    What size spacers would be recommended for ET45 if the offset for the car should be ET35?

    It's not that simple. You can't just subtract 45 from 35 and know what size spacer to get because the spacers are sold by inches. I'm just trying to get some help don't need any negative comments thanks.

    It is that simple. And spacers are sold in mm. You need a 10mm. Is that less negative for ya?

    Ok this thread is going nowhere and nowhere fast!!!

    Can you please google some basic info before posting anything that comes up in your head!

    What are Wheel Spacers?
    Wheel Spacers are used to widen the width of the vehicle for stability and to add clearance to the front end when wider rims and tires are being used. Wheel Spacers are used to spread the distance between bigger tires on dually trucks and will place your vehicle at the original manufactures (OEM) wheel offset when installing aftermarket rims.
    General consensus is that mm as in the metric system is used when calculating or reffering to spacers. To answer your 45 to 35 questio, the answer is 10mm spacers (10mm thick)!!!

    I've also included this handy chart for you in case you prefer inches:

    5MM = 0.197 INCH / 8MM = 0.313 INCH
    10MM = 0.393 INCH / 12MM = 0.473 INCH
    15MM = 0.590 INCH / 20MM = 0.787 INCH
    25MM = 0.983 INCH

    I'm sorry for the tone of my post but you put absolutely zero effort in finding the info you needed as it was pretty much a few keystrokes away. BTW the original offset for our our cars is 43-45mm hope this helps you decide.

    Thanks for the help. If the original offset of our cars is 43-45 mm will I even need spacers for these wheels which are ET45? Or should I look for ET35s?

    I'm starting to wonder if you are serious about your questions but here goes! You already had the answer to your original question with this reply:

    Regardless of 245's or 255's his resonse applies. As for the sunk in look, this is how the stock look is, somewhat sunk it.

    No you will not need spacers correct, as the wheels and offset are pretty much like stock. As for getting ET35 wheels you can't, please refer to your original post bellow!!!

    If you buy the wheels with a 45 offset and want them to sit more flush (like ET35) then get the ET45 wheels and add 10mm spacers. Which will reduce your wheels overall offset to ET35.

    I hope this answers all of your questions!

    We are reinventing the wheel here. (pun intended)

    With 8.5 wide wheels, ET30-33 is where you are starting to get into rub territory with lowered suspension, period.
