Shop experienced with stretching tires

Does anyone have any recommendations with shops that are good at stretching tires? I just need to get mine rotated and am looking for someone that won't mess up my lips/seal.

Discount tire fucked up my 19's . I am guessing the workers are use the laying the wheels down on the ground since 99% of the time there is tire to protect the wheel, but I have stretched tires and they dropped or layed my wheels down aggressively and now my wheels are chipped/scratched in various parts....

My guess is SCR performance in Loveland would handle a stretched tire ok.

Yeah Discount is real bad about service and care. Heard way too many stories. Only thing I'll go there for is falken 512s since they are the only place that has them.

Give Discount Tire and Wheel a call, tell them what you want, and if you decide to go to them, emphasize at drop off, for them to take good care of the wheels. I had my 19's done there, and just one ended up with a very small mark. They've done work for my wife's Montero, and my commuter car also. Good prices too. SCR would be ideal, but I'm sure they are quite pricey.

Sorry, but a small mark isn't acceptable in my book for expensive wheels. I also saw them set my old wheels face down and let it wobble to a stop, when they OBVIOUSLY had stretched tires.

However, I just talked to a friend that knows of a guy in foco that works at a specific discount tire who has really stretched tires on his car and knows what he's doing. Gonna try and connect with him soon.

Haha wow. It still amazes me how some tire techs don't know what they are talking about.

Stretching tires isn't actually "stretching a tire." It's just fitting a skinnier tire on a certain wheel, making the sidewall have a stretched look. People run stretched tires to run wide wheels and be low at the same time and have minimal rubbing.

For instance. I have a 205/45 fit onto a 17x8.5 wheel. The tire isn't nearly as wide as the wheel itself, so the sidewalls stretch. It looks like this:




So you can tuck tire like this and run a 9" wide wheel...and not rub at all...which I don't.

wow.. impossible huh?? ya since like a third of the vortex community is running stretched setups. yea discount doesnt care about dropping wheels on their faces... thats y i didnt take my new setup of forged wheels there... really didnt want to deal with a scratch on a fresh powder coat.. "even if it just a scratch", that is inexcusable in my book when your wheels cost 4 figures.

Future reference for Foco people, there is a guy at the discount on harmony/college that has experience with stretched tires and 3 piece wheels. His name is DJ. Go see him if you need anything. I'll post back later this week or next week with my experience.
