black rims or gunmetal?

got a icy silver a5. need some opinions if black rims would look better or gun metal.

+1. Gunmetal will be dark enough for good contrast too. If you go black (yes, I know what you're thinking), you can black out your trim/grill for a cool match.

I vote for the gun metal. I think it's just enough offset from Ibis to set it off. To add to Floorjack's post, you would have to black out everything else unless you already have the titanium package. You can't go wrong with either because they both look good with white.

I really like Mopsta81's Hartmann rep's in Anthracite (dark grey/gun metal). They look perfect against a silver finish and are a bargain price, about $340 a wheel if i remember correctly.

I'm also partial to these ADV5.1's shown here on a Quartz Grey S5 in matte black:

They would look nice against your Ice silver. They run about $2,650 for a set of 20's.

depends what you like on your car. concaves, big lips, step lips, mesh? give us some variables to work with.

if money was no object, i would go with dpe's or hre's. i personally like the look of the tsw nurburgring in gunmetal for a budget wheel.

Would def do gunmetal on silver. Would flow really well but thats just my opinion. Agree with crisp on TSW....that have some great wheels with good pricing.

Personally, I think some 20x9 ET35 V710 in Matte Black would look killer on your car, the A5 pulls off 20's perfectly

Wheels are a pretty personal choice. If you want to save a few bucks, check out the Vossen Audi gallery on Vossen's site. They have great photos and some cool designs. The ADV.1 Flowspec series has a matte black five spoke with some decent concavity. They have a couple more designs in the works for that series and I think those are in the 700 per corner range.

HRE, DPE and ADV.1 have some amazing wheel designs and solid craftsmanship. At that level you're spending 10-12k on wheels and tires.

Do you like spokes, mesh, concave? Pick a style and there's lotsa good taste around here to help you choose.

Personally, I like a five spoke or mesh and I like wicked deep concavity. Unfortunately DPE and HRE have priced me out at the moment.

The Vertinis look pretty cool. Most places offer a staggered package for around 2K a set. I think the 20X10's are offered in a 32 and 25 offset. ET25 is probably the way to go for a flush look. I'm not a fan of the enormous Vertini logo but otherwise they look good. I'm pretty sure they're made in Taiwan but I doubt that equals poor quality. Does this mean you've decided on a mesh style wheel?

Either will look great. Keep an eye on ADV.1 and their flowspec series. I believe they have a mesh wheel in the works and that line is much more affordable.

Lots a guys on here have done the mesh and their cars look sharp. Search ExhaustNote and check out his wheels. skotner got a sick look from a deep lip spoke wheel and your paint colors are similar I believe.

Gunmetal over black. Looks sporty but refined.

Also think about a wheel with a machined or other lighter face pn gunmetal or black. The two tone look really makes the wheel pop. Hartmann has both the S5 reps and RS4 reps with this color combo. Something to think about...
