    USP Honeycomb lower grill

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey, just bought a 2003 A4 and am fairly new to the Audi scene. I have owned a 04 Jetta GLI but the wife wreaked it 6 months after i bought it :(. I bought the car from a guy who took amazing care of the car, with only a few minor imperfections. I have been able to fix/replace everything except the lower Ultra sport grill, i have no idea where to find it. I have check on several sites, but the one that is currently on the car is a honeycomb design just like the fog lights. Does anybody know where i can find this one or a site to check out? I was also wondering if any one if anyone had any ideas of my next upgrade for my car? I currently am running stage II+ from APR with an APR exhaust, eurocode test pipe, TT injectors, APR snub mount, ABD short shifter and B7 front calipers, rotors and pads. Any help would me much appricaiated

If the lower USP center grille matches the fog grilles, it's custom. Are you sure its a USP front, IIRC the Votex front has matching fog/center grilles.

Next upgrade...I'd say an upgraded intercooler or suspension should be the next step performance wise.

It's definitely a DIY grille--I know, I have one. A lot of people with go this route because lower USP grilles aren't cheap. I have both the "custom" grille and the OEM USP grille. I rock the DIY one in the winter(if it gets busted up, who cares), and the stocker in the summer.

If the honeycomb grill is made of flat metal then it is a custom job.

A plastic honeycomb grill exists and comes from Europe as I was looking at it for my USP setup.

I don't have the part number handy but you can find it in ETOS.

I believe the plastic honeycomb grill isn't for the S-Line bumper, but for the Votex body kit. The honeycomb pattern is much smaller than what exists for the fog light grills. There's even a matching honeycomb hood grill also made for the Votex kit, but was never sold with the kit. I don't know if the lower grill would fit the USP lower bumper or if any modifications would be needed.

You can also get plastic mesh from LLTek.com that comes close to matching the fog light grills...

Well I know they are in the system as I was looking at buying a pair of foglight delete grills and they came in the honeycomb pattern.

Partnumber? I would love to hear more about this cause I might switch to the S4 bumper to do S6 LED FOG setup.

Up until recently, I was always in the B8 A4 and B5 S4 forums. I picked up my Avant and sold the S4 so I could finish buying parts for my VR swap.

The foglight cover was only for the USP bumper.

Thanks man, any particular kind. The reason i ask is im actually stationed on Ft. Carson and with my kit my car sits pretty low. I'll try to get some pics. Not why there arn't very many Springs guys on here? This site is amazing and a ton of guys on post have A4's/S4's.

Thanks to all you guys for the information, you guys are a wealth of knowledge and help!! Not a hundred percent sure on weather the kit is infact a USP. The reason i had suspected it was a USP is the guy i bought it from bought and had it installed from the Audi dealership here in the springs. I had also asked the Audi shop guys at the dealership and they had said it looked like a USP kit. The grills are all plastic as well. The pic posted by CyberPMG is exactly what my car looks like! If you happen to find a part number let me know!!

I understand that, but I guess I didn't type everything out I was thinking.. duh.. What I mean is I would like to know more since I could cut the top off of this foglight delete grill and not have a huge whole from the fog light keeping my USP DIY that I did 6-7 months ago. Otherwise I'm going to be looking into doing a S4 bumper and modding up the S4 fog light grills for the S6 LED's. I'm just looking for anything to help get some S6 LED on the car without it looking like a total hack job if you know what I mean. I want them to look factory without being factory.

Anyone want to try to find that grill part number? I would love to get this bumper back on the car soon after my swap. I picked up some OEM S6 LED and grills this last week that really would love to be on a USP front that doesn't looked hacked.

The only cover I'm aware of is a plastic plate the clipped onto the back of the passenger side fog light grill for those that had the North American Ultrasport package instead of the S-Line package offered in Europe which came with DSMIC and needed the additional airflow through the passenger side fog light grill.

I don't think I've ever seen or heard of an Ultrasport or S-Line that came from the factory without fog lights.

Well I need to know if they make these or not otherwise I'm going to sell off my USP DIY front bumper to get an S4 bumper. I just like the little lip on the front of the USP it adds instead of rolling under the car.

Really curious about that lower center grille that's in the photo CyberPMG posted. AFAIK its a Votex grille but shouldn't fit the USP lower...at least not without modification. OP...please post some pictures of your ride!

The pic of my car is not of a Votex grill. I've made several posts about it. The upper grill is an Uberhaus hood grill from LLTek.com. The lower uses the frame from an OEM USP lower center grill, and the same plastic mesh from LLTek.com so that it matches the upper grill and comes very close to the look of the fog grills.

I have seen a real Votex hood grill (had one in fact). The size of the honeycomb mesh is a smaller and tighter pattern than what's used with the USP fog grills. It may be possible to custom fit the lower Votex center grill from the body kit into the USP lower bumper, but I opted not to have a smaller honeycomb mesh pattern in the center.

I do want to know if Audi (or quattro GmbH) made any side fog light grills without the opening for the fog lights (solid mesh).

Thanks man...you just saved me an ass ton of time (and probably $). I don't see the grille listed on their site for the B6 though. I see the mesh material in the B5 section.

Yes, the hood grill is in the B6 section. The mesh by itself is found under the B5 S4 bodykits. Take a measurement of the length and width of the OEM USP grill and add about 3 more inches to both dimensions. That allows you to line up the mesh to the hood grill before cutting to fit.

Had to ask LLTek about this. They pointed me to this page:

    http://www.lltek.com/grills_A4.htm

Why it doesn't show up in the B6 section is anybody's guess.

Alright guys, for those who want to do this using the lltek mesh...i did this last summer after converting to a USP lower. I actually used the non USP grill frame saving my more money and giving it a cleaner look. Check out my thead on this below
