Just what you said. A peddle position sensor controls more or less the throttle body. Your car isnt reading the peddles input properly thus throwing off every subsequent system. Replace the sensor.

I think this happened to me today. It's wet out, driving down the street, epc, esp, and cel all come on and the car goes into flaccid mode. I just did a little quick reading, and some people have had water in the throttle harness, cracked vacuum hoses sucking up a little water, etc.

Read a little thread about the throttle potentiometer. Apparently you can reset it by turning the key to on with engine off. Press gas pedal all the way in and out ten times, then key out. Turn car on.

This actually worked for me, for now. Limp mode is gone, epc and esp lights are gone, but the cel is still there. I guess I will have to see if that gots away on it's own. If the problem is gone, the cel will turn itself off after several drive cycles, right?

Not a lot of help here, huh? Probably should have started a new thread. Oh well, see what I get for searching? Lol. I talked to my shop, they said it could be something as small as a relay going bad, to a bad mafs. I'm taking it in on Monday, to check codes at the least, and we'll see exactly what's going on. I sure hope it's cheap and easy at least.
