yea, I did that when I changed my brakes a few weeks ago. Busted out the cutting wheel, and grinded away the head of the screw. Are you changing the rotors, or leaving the old ones on?

Plan was to leave the old ones on since they are still pretty good

just put it in the river......
or buy a screw removal tool...
but I still say it goes in the river, just use a brick for the gas pedal.

Dremel a slot in the head, and screw it out.

Mine did the same... got a drill/bit and drilled the head out... real easy as the metal is very soft.

screw is there for convenience (hold the rotor in place when you're putting the caliper on). The new rotors I just put on my car didn't even have a hole for that screw. I wouldn't worry about it.

pb blaster (for the rust which im assuming is what made unscrewing it such a pain in the ass) and then what everyone is saying about drilling it out

the longer pb stays in the easier it will be to get out so give it some pb then wait like 15-30 minutes and try it out then just toss the screw as its not even needed

I had zero problems with getting the screw off. No idea why it strips for so many people. Maybe salt on the road up north?

I actually heard from a dealer the screw is only there to hold the rotor in place on the assembly line. Other then that you can throw it out. Of course you have to get it out first, I vote to dremel a slot as well.

If you're still having difficulty getting the screw out after making a slot, buy/rent an impact screwdriver. I just did the brakes on a friend's Honda yesterday, and it makes getting the screw out much easier. If you opt to buy an impact screwdriver, Harbor Freight sells a set for $6, but don't use the bits that come with it. They are crap and will twist and break off the tip. I've learned that anything "impact" from Harbor Freight will break. Get a bit from Sears for $2. You can buy an impact screwdriver set from Sears, but they cost $25. Use PB blaster liberally.
