50% is very light and does add a very nice contrast to a vehicle from the outside .... on the inside during the day you will notice the difference of the contrast but at night when you have lights on you .. it feels like there is nothing on your windows.
35% is considered a medium shade and probably the most popular IMO ... during day or night I gives a good balance of Light/block.
As far as Heat rejection goes for the different shades is all based on the Type of film and heat rejection properties. Something to keep in mind when Shopping around for Tint is not only the Shade/Darkness but the Heat rejection properties of the film. the color, and reputation. I recommend LLumar, LLumar F1, Johnson, CPF, 3m and Huper Optik.
