Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So i was an idiot and tried to park in a driveway that had a steep incline and i scraped the bottom right side of my bumper with the curb. Anything I can do to fix this? I can touch my hand on it and feel the scrape :-( and it's white

:-/ don't use a black sharpie, I'm sure someone will chime in with a good touch up product.

A shop scraped mine a week after I had the front bumper re-sprayed. And yes, even if you cannot see it...the fact its there will worry you or it did me. I had my body shop fix mine. They sprayed the area and "burnt" the clear in. Cant see or fill that it was ever there. But like they said you can just touch it up if you dont want to spend any $$.

I have a bad scratch on the rear bumper from a suitcase trolley at the airport. I dont wash it very often so that my blood pressure doesnt go through the roof everytime i see it

It happens to everyone.... the underside of my bumper has a few scrapes and my own driveway is very steep making my car scrape if not at the right angle. It sucks but just one of the disadvantages of having a lowered car although this car bottomed out a lot of places before even lowering.

How bad is it? It happened to me once on the highway and there was a huge pot hole. Driver's side front wheel went in and the underside of the front bumper got scraped. I used the touch up paint pens from the dealer. They are not the best but they did the job for me. You might want to try your luck with that.

I made it until last Friday, scraped on an island in a parking lot. I pulled in 3" too far. I feel your pain.

touch up pens are $17. They're decent enough to take care of those little scrapes - which are 90% bound to happen at some point.

That's so much better than I imagined it. I pictured a totally trashed under carriage. Buff it with some wax, see what's going on, then move on to using one of those touch up pens, this is a little baby!

ooh, i actually have wax. So you would suggest....

    1. Clean the area again
    2. Use the wax and buffer pad as much as possible
    3. Use paint pen?

As i mentioned, it's getting a full detail in the next few weeks...so would you guys just wait and see what they can do?

Brilliant black is a solid black and Phantom is a metallic black, it is pretty easy to determine which you have once you see both. Brilliant Black is only available on the A5 I believe, Both are available for the S5(I think this is true, I could be wrong).

I used the touch up pens on mine and it worked out well.

Check next to your spare tire, there should be a sticker with your paint code. Or check the pouch your manual came with, there should be a sticker in there too.

I would definitely do a little cleaning/ buffing - you can't hurt at all, you will do no more damage than is there already, then wait to get it detailed see what they can do, move on from there. IMO
