    The Conti gets my vote.

If wet and dry TRACK grip is the focus, either the Direzza Sport or the RE11 get my vote. For daily driving (even "enthusiastically" at times) the Conti DW would be fine and give you a little better durablilty as well. Sport Maxx was a little too noisy for me.

the "extreme" category is geared for drivers that want every ounce of dry grip possible, regardless of durability, road noise and (to a small degree) wet grip. The rubber compound is as close to a race compound as is practical, just with a tread pattern. I'd say go for the RE11 or Direzza Sport, and if the durability is not what you like then step down to the Conti DW for the next set.

I vote for Continantal DW, I prefer the look and the price.

I have some Potenza with Race coumpound and they are really heavy and hard!
Even if my suspension need to be changed, I feel every single cracks in the tarmac. But I guess it's the same with all sport tires.
When there are cold, they skid a lot even in the hottest part of summer until heated where they stick like mad. I dont find them noisy, well from Pirreli winter tires to summer sport theres a world of difference...

Overall from the score you mentionned, the Bridgestone are better overall, but 300 buck more.

The 180, 340 & 240 is the thread life, the higher the number, the higher the mileage you can put on those tires.
A A, or AA A is the traction rating in Dry and Wet
Max load, the highest number the more load you can put on AND they help figure out how hard they might be (comfort)
    etc
Continental are the best from the specs

I have RE-11's on the G8, they're nice, grip well, have tons of tread after 23k miles(so much that I wonder if they're the original tires), 'work' in the wet, and I haven't noticed much tire roar. comparing them to Eagle GT's on a S4 that's 300lbs lighter and has AWD isn't much of a comparison however. So I couldn't really comment on their ability versus what are essentially mid-range all-seasons.

If you want a great track tire. Why don't you consider the nitro nt05's or Michelin pilot supersports

If your going to get the nt05's. Get them from discount tire direct. There cheaper and offer free shipping. On top of that they ship stupid fast, comparable to tirerack in shipping time.

Been running my Hankook R-S3's on my Stage 2+ fwd A3 for the last two summers. Very happy with those in dry or wet. Will likely get one more summer out of them for a total of somewhere around 30000km before I have to change them out.

They have great dry grip, especially so when they warm up. The noise I'd not bad at all in them, even 2/3 worn down. Only issue I had was my set was a real b!tch to balance (needed road force balance) and the take a long time to warm up if the temperature drops below 15 degrees Celsius.

If you want simmilar grip in winters ( didn't look where OP is so not sure he has winter) I found the Michelin Primacy Alpin to be an excellent choice.

Hands down the Dunlop Starspec. they are coming out with the starspec 2 soon also. Best grip in dry or rain, and the longest lasting summer tire also. Ill never buy another summer/performance tire.
