I currently have a 2006 A3 Front Trak on Neuspeed springs (1.2" drop). Will I have any rubbing issues with 18x8.5 et40 on 225/40R18?

Using the calculator, the wheel will be poking out an additional 15mm, yet the height gain is negligible at 1.45mm. So, the wheel will be quite flush to the fender? Can someone chime in with real world experiences with these wheel and tire specs. I'm just concerned that I will be rubbing the fender.

Go out and measure from your fender to your tire right now. If that gap is greater than 15mm it won't rub. If it's less, it will.

He's on 18" not 19" that will make a difference. I want to say your not going to rub with just a 1.2" drop, but i don't know for sure.

Typically, VMR Wheels recommends the 8.5 ET45 setup for our customers and it is pretty flush. I would imagine that dropping down that additional 5mm may cause you to have some light rubbing under heavy load/hard cornering.

    BUMP!

    thread revival. :)
Sooo with a 18x8.5 et40 will rub... really depends on what size tires right? I remember seeing somewhere on here (AZ) where the brakes might not clear. if I get a good stretch would it fit fine? or even some fender roll/pull? A good friend is selling his miro 111's 18x8.5 et40 all around for 450. WITH good tires. so I wanna jump on it quick but can't seem to find out if they'll fit good.
Btw I'm not lowered YET. and I most likely wont put em on till I get my CP's.
