In my experience (on other cars), the HPS are a good replacement for stock pads which provide less dust and will give you a bit of increased braking performance. The Ceramics are a step up, and would be something to consider replacing your pads with now, before they're fully worn out. The Ceramics do perform better than the HPS, although they dust a bit more (maybe on a OEM-dust level, not more than that). The Ceramics also perform well from the start...in my experience, you don't need to build heat into them before you notice a difference. Hope this helps!

I purchased a B8 S4 last week and its horribly quiet and the mod bug is sarting.

1) What is the difference between high and low rpm resonator catback? This is something I have never heard of and I am by no means new to hopping up cars. I hate making assumptions so clue me in.
2) What is the typical WHP gain with a cat back exhaust on a B8 S4 mine is a DSG if it matters. Ive had cars that used different parts for different trannies due to clearance issues.

The HPS will reduce the dust over OEM (by quite a bit) and give you a nice performance bump. I haven't personally used EBC pads, so I can't comment on that. If you're looking for a better-than-OEM replacement, I think you'll be happy.

The high-RPM is designed with the manual transmission in mind (in that you would be keeping the RPM's higher), and the low-RPM is designed for the DSG (in that the trans would keep the RPM's lower). However, the resonator pieces are interchangeable, so if you found the low's to be too quiet, you could swap in the high units. The WHP gains are subjective. For one, the DSG cars have more drivetrain loss over the manual cars. Second, the dyno/weather/etc conditions give differing numbers. There might be a thread on here with some figures, but I don't want to misquote anything.

Not that difficult, if you use DavidB8's site http://www.audienthusiasts.com/ it walks you through things. It looks complex and is hard to understand at first, but it's more of a "once you see and use it you understand it better" kind of thing. Understanding basic binary and hex code is a plus, but by NO means required. If you are not sure on something just post a thread asking. DavidB8 and RLarsen over on the B8A4 forums are masters of VCDS and always glad to answer a question.

Very easy. There's a lot of information on the forum how to use it, and Ross-Tech's website has a very comprehensive 100-page PDF instruction manual. But its fairly intuitive, and a lot of guys on the various forums have done step-by-step tutiorials on how to take care of the most common stuff. Torque settings yes, I don't think there is an in depth guide on how to do a full engine strip but I'm sure it will help.

I'm not sure the guide has torque specs for every fastener in the car as per WeeKenny's question, are you sure?

I could be wrong but every guide I've had there are a few fasteners I needed to Google or talk to a shop.
