Hit massive pothole...bubble in the tire + bent rim..HELP!

Hey guys,

As we all know, NY has the most crappiest roads ever. Anyways tonight I was on the highway and I hit a massive hole in the road, which I couldn't avoid. When I got to my destination, I realized my right front tire had a tire bubble and well my right front rim feels like it is bent.

I just bought these tires 4 months ago and put 10,000 miles on them..I know with quattro you need the same tire and wear, but can I replace that one tire and be okay?

You should be ok with replacing that tire. Just about the same situation happend to me, and my drivetrain hasnt exploded!

3% overall difference in tire diameter is acceptable. just replace the one.

You'll probably be OK but if your tires are fairly worn you can purchase a single from Tire Rack as they offer a tire shaving service FYI.

I'm going to measure the tire depth and see what's up...maybe I'll just buy a new set of rims/tires...damn NY.

3% is over 3/4" on stock sized tires... normal wear range from new to wear bars is ~9/32"

You can always look on Ebay for a used tire. Regarding the bent wheel, Dunn Sport in the Bronx can straighten it for $100. Takes about an hour. Just had one of my brand new wheels repaired there yesterday after I bent it on the Major Deegan.

Sorry about your wheel and tire... I simply dislike to drive thru NY since it already has bent my one of my wheels, which i had it replaced. But, my car is not just same as before... damn ny roads.

I wonder if my right shock is okay? It feels fine and these VMAXX coilovers are pretty reliable...close to 45k on them. I think I'm going to order a new rim and a new tire from tire rack and shave it down to match the rest.

I just got an alignment about a month ago..The car goes in a straight line..think I may be able to just get away with tire + rim?
