Anyone else's companies they deal with have this?

It's about 1 billion times more efficient than calling in, waiting on hold, pressing 100 buttons to get to the right division and then having to yell at 4 different CSRs to get what you want.

Then at the end, you have no record or anything of what transpired.

Used this new option with my previous internet company and I couldn't be happier as I got my full refund, my account closed all with confirmation in less than 4 mins.

I use this whenever possible when I have to contact tech support. I see a lot of companies are using this feature now and it's great. One issue I always had with tech support was the language barrier along with crappy phones. I'd contact support and get a person that spoke broken english over a phone connection that had a ton of background noise so I could never understand what they are saying. Now it's just type in your question / problem, and wait for a response.

    Welcome to GCC.

I hear ya. I was gearing myself up to be fustrated and lose it on the first CSR I spoke to but doing it this way the entire process was almost...peaceful.

I love the webchat type service. i've used it on the purems.com website along with tech support for my cell phone and my home cable tv. Its soo much faster than waiting on a phone forever and then having someone who cant even help me. i wish pretty much every company had some kind of webchat service. theres a chinese food place by my house that has online ordering using that kinda service, the food isn't that great but i order from them more often because of the convenience.

I would much rather type at someone than hear that fake fahking british accent and have someone introduce themselves as "............Bob"

I've used these before with a few companies. 100x more productive than a phone rep.

Probably the best idea ever for internet based companies. ECS Online Chat is great help too.

We have this on our website so I'll give you the other side of this story.

Web chat customers are fucking pricks. They think that just because they are chatting over the web that there isn't a real person on the other end. People are rude in ways that they NEVER would be over the phone or in person. It's frustrating.

I honestly figured it was a 'bot' that looked for key words. I was a bit of a prick though but I would have been a prick on the phone as well.

Screw up on my bill 8 times in 4 months? Damn right I'm going to be pissed when I talk to you.

We use meebo for our online customer service and it works just like any other instant messenger.
