Audi G12 Coolant Vs Pentosin G12 Plus

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know what the manual says about G12, G12+ and G12++ but I'd like opinions from other Audi drivers.
    .
I'm a little below the 'Min' line and I need to go on a road trip tomorrow. I bought some Pentosin G12 'Pentofrost SF' and I'm curious if this is ok to add. I'm one of those 'use OEM' if possible kinda guys, but since I don't want to buy a Gallon of the Audi stuff, will the Pentosin cause any issues?

If your just slightly below Min just add a little water. your probably talking less tahn 5 ounces which will not play a significant role in changing your properties/temp ranges of what is already in there. If you already have some pentosin g 12 you can also add that

Does anyone have a good source for the Audi coolant or is it already a cheap enough thing to just pick up a gallon at the dealership? No clue if we're talking $5 or $50...

I paid $13 and change for a 1.5 Liter bottle of the Pentosin.
I was afraid of paying two prices @ the Stealership...

A Gallon of OEM Audi was $30 shipped form ECS.

I forgot the price i payed, but keep in mind..as i filled the car yesterday...i only needed a very thinny bit to fill it up again. I was just above minimum and i only needed 0.3-0.4l of mixed (60%-40%, h2o & coolant) to hit maximum.
So, you can do a long time if you only have one audi or you can hope your dealer fills it up at low price/free for you.
I've been told to stick to G12++ or water only and don't use other products. But that was the dealer talking. As long as you don't life in an extreme cold envirement you can temp fill up the coolant by just adding water he said aswell.

G12++ does not come in gallon size that I'm aware of from the dealer. You can buy the Aftermarket Pentosin ++ for $50/gallon on ECS, or the regular non-plus stuff from the dealer.

how much of the non diluted g12 do you need to fill up mixed with water (1,2,3 bottles of 1.5 liters)

i just replaces the thermostat and can only find the concentrated g12 and i need to know how many to buy.

If you are topping off, distilled water is the best. This is the only kind of water to use in your cooling system.

Save the coolant for your coolant flush/refill.

If its pure coolant do a 50/50 mix. Easy way to do it is to get a big bucket. Dump 1.5 liters of pure coolant in, refill the bottle with distilled water and dump it in the bucket.

For every 1.5 of coolant you added make sure to add the same in distilled water.
