    Turn Signals not Blinking

My blinkers stopped working. When I hit the lever up or down, the light just stays steady. All light bulbs work; hazards work too.

    What should I replace?

My B5A4 did this, I was gonna replace the hazard switch, but then saw the the hazard flashed all four corners. Not sure if it's a fix or not, but it worked for me -> Turn the hazards on, move the turn signal one way for about 20 secs and then the other way for about 20 secs. I figured it was just dirty contacts, you could try to pull the switch and clean it out.

The problem is with the turn signal relay (aka hazard relay, aka hazard switch). The contacts on the internal relay get dirty and it fails to work properly. Cleaning can sometimes fix it, but they are cheap enough that you just buy a new one and forget about it.

I first thought it was the stalk but now it makes sense.

So just pop off the cover, snap out the relay/button, replace?

99.5+ will be a litte more difficult because the trim around the fog buttons/cup holder/hazard switch is very fragile. It is held in the back by 6 or so clips that are very strong, but are attached by very weak plastic "welds". I would advise that you do it when the car interior is warm and to go slowly to avoid breaking it. Here is a DIY that goes into some detail about breaking the hazard trim:
    http://www.audidatabase.net/Article_...ard_Relay.html

And here is the piece you might break:
    http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_A4-...3321/ES248769/

And while we're doing links, here is the actual switch:

happened to me also. The contacts get humidity and it looses ground. They sometimes work, sometimes don`t.
You can use A4 B5, A6 C5 relay are all the same.

Tell them if its the non-facelift(-05.1999) or facelift(06.1999+) model, they differ.

Also look at this for the facelift model:

You can save the old one if you are lucky and cant get the money for a new one (30$ :p) ... did not test myself, i smashed mine with a hammer.
    N-ai Treaba !!

    i oooo A4 B5 Facelift 1.6i 74kw

So, we're sure the blinker fluid level isn't low?

Very nice guys and thanks to memo for making the original post. i have the same issue except it doesn't turn on steady. for left signal it turns on for 1 or 2 blinks then it goes out. for the right signal it doesn't even light up.

imma try what cwaudi suggested. looks like a fun DIY that could give you a little confidence boost and dopamine.

mine was not glued but I did have to do a little forcing to get the clips to release. just use two screw drivers to pry it out on each side, and it should come straight out.

I need a 5-minute fix for an A4 (B6).......in a B5, the turn signal and emergency flasher relay are one in the same and very easy to fix, but where is the turn signal relay for a 2004 Audi A4 (B6) Quattro Cabriolet 3.0L? Any help is most welcomed! THX!

    Going through process of elimination....
Took out the switch and cleaned it up, doesn't work....
    Checked fuse box, doesn't work...
Did the 20 second trick, still doesn't work.....

Do I have to bite the bullet and buy the switch from ecs?

Same here. cleaned the contact point on it. no turn signal at all.
I'm going to try one more time, then I'm throwing in the towel and buying a new switch

If the turn signal works listen to where the clicking sound comes from. The relay should be somewhere in that area.
