Initially you will get a smooth ride if your not looking to drop so low. But after a couple or so thousand miles, you will start to feel it get rough. Reason is your stocks shocks are not made to specifications of being on a shorter springs. This also will vary on the way you drive, the types of roads you have or drive on etc. Coilovers will always be better if your looking for real performance but the price will cost 9x-20x the price of that of springs. I went with Ohlins, best ride ever, smoother than stock, responsive, ability to adjust height, ability to fit different size wheels, corner balancing, etc.

Ditto coilovers, but more expensive,I have Apex Springs 1.6" drop on stock shocks, but the roads are pretty smoothe
here in South Florida. Shocks? I will eventually change when they start gettin squishy! I'm at 105,000 miles now.

he said it all, ive done both, honestly coilovers are worth the money. not trying to be dramatic, but its like day and nite difference. all coilovers vary, some are stiffer than others, i would research spring rates and reviews on forums like this one to seek what type of coilover you would like. i would go midrange price if youre not planning on tracking, a set of H&Rs, Konis, ST or KWs should be great and youll be satisfied
