    Question NGK vs. Bosch Plugs

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've been searching around, and looking online. I am not sure exactly the difference between NKG and Bosch (OEM) spark plugs.

From what I've read, it's about 50/50 on what people prefer to use. I know that the NGK are claimed to run colder for modded cars.
Now I noticed on Europaparts website that the NGK plugs are slightly cheaper.

    NGK $9.95
    http://www.europaparts.com/spark-plug-bkr7eix.html

    Bosch $12.95
    http://www.europaparts.com/spark-plu...31h-bosch.html

Any insight on the cons/pros between either? Thanks.

Any reason why you chose NGK over OEM?

Doesn't really matter. Since you're stage 2, it's generally a good idea to go a step colder, but it's really not something you're going to notice either way.

Go stock... if you've increased your output 75-100hp then go 1 step colder. Otherwise you are wasting your money. The stock Bosch plug works great, there's even a DIY on it with the part numbers and everything (cough cough sorry just advertising my DIY haha)

MANY heavily modded cars still run stock plugs. I've read on the forums that AZ advertised shops have recommended stock plugs as well.

That's my point though, the stock plugs are more expensive. The reliability seems to be the same.

If they really are the same and no noticeable difference, there shouldn't be a problem going with the more cost effective.

I'm running NGks on my VR6 turbo swap. I think they should be just fine. We use NGKs on all of our projects and no problems

Both Bosch and NGK are OE suppliers to Audi and VW.. Depending on the model, day of the week, and cost they switch between Bosch and NGK all the time.

There isn't much difference between the two if you're comparing apples to apples..

BKR7EIX is a popular plug for mildly modified cars, as is the stock FR-6-KPP-332S..

So you're saying going with one step colder (NGK) on a stock car would not be a problem? Pretty much the same as going with Bosch?
