    Will a 09+ Facelift fit on a 06-08?

I am just wondering if any one knows if a facelift front end will work on a 2006?

    2006

    to this
    2011

I did some research and it looks like the hood & fenders are different, but I dont have the latest copy of Etka to check out any more differences.

I am assuming to run the new lights and bumpers, I'll need a new rad support as well.

    Any info would be helpful.

    Thanks

Im 99% sure it wont work... The bumper, grille, lights and hood are def different on the facelift and I know that its a little bit of different process taking the bumper off of a facelift than it is the pre facelift. Im sure you could prob get a body shop to do the swap, but there would be some major modifications that would have to be done and it would prob cost you out the ass to do it... I like the pre-facelifts... why do you want to change it?? :)

I guess its possible, but i'm almost 100% sure you can't get a facelift bumper without also changing the fenders, headlights, hood... etc. You would essentially have to swap the entire car.

I dont mind buying a new hood, fenders etc actually pretty cheap to do.

I don't like the rub strips on the 06s so I just need to see a diagram of the different pieces. I would like to change up to Xenon lights too.

^ why bother when i have 400hp in this car and much more invested already than 5-6gs? And especially when this one will be paid off soon. When this one is paid off then I'll get a A5/S5 Daily and the A3 will be my fun car.

I can only agree.. esp if you are very pleased with the car you have already. and as you said well its not that expensive.. :) and if you already putted alot of money into the car and your happy about it well what does a few $$ means more ;)
ive personally spend way over 100,000USD on my audi and its also 450+ hp and dont miss anything :) so only thumbs up if you plan to change the front:)

There is also the Oettinger Kit, if your looking for a fresher look. It would probably end up costing the same amount..

did you buy it from new? (4 years ago) or recently bought it? and if you recently bought it from private or Dealer? :) - if you bought it from new 4 years ago i think the warrenty just went out (4 years) and if you bought it private.. there isnt any. if you bought it like 1 year ago. from a dealer theres 2 years warrently from that date you bought if off.. Usually.

Bought it USED from the dealer....and it came with the extended warrenty so actually to an extra 2/yr or 120,000. So yes I technically still have warrently, but they would just open the hood and laugh.

Hey, if you are determined to get the face liftlook, you might as well get the facelifted OEM S3 body parts.

i think it will match your aggressive styling much better and it probably wouldn't cost more than the stander s-line body conversion.

Just based on those pics, do you think the front cut of the fenders are really different? Looks like they may be the same on both cars, with just the hood and bumper being different. If you change the fender it looks like the sculpting along the doors wouldn't match. If that's the case I would just go with a nice body kit like the oett posted above.

You can see that in the older version the line extending from the corner of the light back is now a smoother curve. The S3 is such a beauty...if it were only available in the US!

After having a 2010 for a couple days to measure and check out, turns out the fenders are taller and the hood does sit higher. also the mounting points are much different. not for price but for sheer amount of labour to tear down the front end it wayyyy too much work. I think I will just go with a pre-facelift S3 front and save the remainder of money for the interior I want.

As for current mods, just minor stuff right now. I have delayed on the meth kit getting installed. It is just sitting in a box at work but I need a different maf housing from Joel @ Eurojet and an upgraded uni flash first. Spending lots of hours looking at wheels right now and different appearance mods to get it ready for this show season.
