What kind of fitment do you want? Conservative (no rub), aggressive (possible rub), flush (slight rub), or HELLA flush (rub-a-dub-dub)? Also, what size tires do you plan on running? Need more info...

Oki ! i wrote this thread because i don't know what will be the best compromise beetween an agressive look with a drop on 20 inch wheels and a smooth drive.

I'm looking to drop for 1.5-2 inch with an agressive look. I'm looking to get none/verrryyy little possibly rub.

I'm really new to Wheels/Suspension/Drop. So my sizes of tires, offset etc do you guys recommend me ?

    Maybe 20inch is too bid for a B8 ?!

    thanks

I think 20x9" ET38-42 with 255/30/20 tires should suit what you're looking for. Depending on your budget, I can suggest some wheels.

Including tires? Sounds like a set of Forgestar or ADV.1 Flowspec would be perfect for you.

    frank_t86,
As a fellow (1/2) French Canadien, I must express my concern regarding you're considering running 20" rims in your environment - the extreme cold winter temps must create many potholes throughout the streets and highways during your Quebec winter.
IMHO, look at 18' rims for winter and 19" for summer.
    Cheers

I'm monitoring this thread, i'm interested in doing this too. Summer 20".

As Blake mentioned, i'm looking at 255/30 R20. I'm currently running stock SLine setup and i'm looking in dropping the car to have close to a zero wheel gap and somewhat flush wheels (I was thinking possibly an additional 5mm out from the current sline setup).

I know Blake is saying 38 to 42ET... how does that compare to sline? (using my stock setup as a point of reference, helps me visualize)

I've always been curious as to what the implications of wheel rub were... I was expecting the fender to shred the tire or vis versa... IE catastrophic failure of "something".

20x9" ET38 would push the wheels 11mm further toward the fender and 1mm further toward the suspension than stock 19x8.5" ET43 S Line wheels.
20x9" ET42 would push the wheels 7mm further toward the fender and 5mm further toward the suspension than stock 19x8.5" ET43 S Line wheels.

Wheel rub would not be catastrophic unless you are running very aggressive offset and lowering. Roll the front fenders and you'll be fine. There is plenty of clearance for the specs I have provided and the only rubbing you MIGHT experience would be against the liner in the rear fenders or if you have your front tires turned and hit a bump or go up a driveway too fast and the suspension compresses, causing the front tire to hit the fenders. Just be careful and slow down when entering driveways and you'll be fine.

The only other nice wheels i can think of that fit your budget and specs are BBS CK and some of Vorsteiner's cast wheel line. Do a little research and see what you like...

I've also been following the thread. I am looking to put on 20" wheels to my A4 B8 w completely stock setup. I currently am running 19's. I don't have any of the cold whether concerns as mentioned above. Can I get the 20's to fit w no rubbing?

if you run 20" wheels or 12" wheels, you should have the same tire height overall. Only worry about rubbing would be if you are lowered and the tire gets wider. As wheel gets bigger, sidewall gets shorter to keep the tire diameter the same.
