Alright i know these 2 cars are completely different, but i was wondering which one would you rather. A 2008 porsche cayenne turbo with 45k miles for $52000 or a brand new 2011 s4 for $52000 . They both have the same 0-60 times but i was just wondering what you would rather have. Thanks

Do you want new or used. Warranty or not? I love the 996+997 turbos.. I would love to give a Cayenne turbo a shot.

    Best regards,
    Sean.

Im looking at the cayenne turbo over the gts. Im pretty sure the warranty would expire pretty soon for the cayenne turbo, but i would consider extending it.

Porsche products are far superior to anything Audi makes. Its isn't even close, and yes...it is strange that you're cross shopping an S4 with a Cayenne turbo.

Not being biased either,...i've owned both makes over the years. Porsche makes f....ing awesome cars. Do it, get the Porsche you won't regret it.

I know its 2 different cars. I was just wondering since the cayenne is very fast compared to the s4. I just wanted to hear some opinions. Thanks

This really shouldn't be that hard... If you need an SUV, get the porsche, if you like saving money on gas, get the audi...

Love both cars. Tough decision and I considered both as well. I chose the S4 because it was brand new with lots of potential.

will this car be a DD? my dad had a 2007 cayenne s and had numerous problems from the headunit to tiptronic problems and even suspension related problems. i think of posrches as more of weekend cars.. for a DD i would choose the Audi

i guess you could always look at the fact that a lot of that car comes from the touareg... the air suspension is problematic... can't say the engine is bulletproof... for me personally I would look at cost of ownership... and the cayenne turbo is a 100000+ SUV... and has repairs and maintenance that cost like you would find for a car in that range! Audi is brand new with bumper to bumper warranty and is only a 50k dollar car and the maintenance will be that of a 50k dollar car... I think the massive depreciation the Cayenne Turbo has seen has something to say about the car as a whole...

I had a 2006 Cayenne Turbo for a few years...i recently traded it for the new 2011 which is head and shoulders better than the last generation. In terms of the amenities, believe it or not, the Audi is by far and away a better vehicle. Albeit, if you require ground clearence or more space for gear then i would suggest the cayenne, however the interior look and feel is quite dated on the elder generation cayenne's. Remember that, with the exception of a minor facelift in 2008, it is the same car which debuted in 2005, so the powertrain technology is, and seems a bit rustic when you compare it to the newer cars coming out in 2011. The porsche does corner as well and accelerate as well, or better than the audi, however, you will still be left with an older feeling car.

That said, there are plenty of used cars that seem to age very well and hold there "new" feeling for a decade or more, but as a previous owner of this particular car i can say that this truck does not. The navigation is outdated, the bose stereo is lack luster when compared to the audi B&O, the automatic transmission is clunky and slow to shift, the blue tooth connectivity is spotty and many calls drop while using it, and most importantly, it does not come in a standard transmission.

If i could only choose one, I would have the audi, hands down.

    - This is extremely true! The reason for depreciation is that it was the last year before Porsche released a completely new version of the vehicle, and one that improved on all of the inherent flaws of the outgoing model, and there were many flaws.

Did i mention that the car weighs nearly as much as a chevy suburban...

A good friend of mine just traded in her 2008 Cayenne Turbo S on a Mini Clubman. Her Cayenne was the absolute biggest POS I've EVER seen in a car in the last 20 years. NOTHING but problems with her car...every day was a new adventure and she only had 35k miles on it! Run, don't walk away from the Cayenne. Oh, and she got $33,500 on trade for a vehicle that was in great shape physically and was $115k new. That should tell you something.

I've driven the Cayenne Turbo and it was nice and fast but S4 would trump it hands down. If your looking at a fast SUV maybe consider SRT-8 jeep its not a Porsche but.... It would cost much less used and wouldn't need insane upkeep. Also mod friendly....

Cayenne Turbo pretty mod friendly IMO. Can get decent HP with just a chip.

If I was considering a Cayenne, I would either purchase the new model or wait for a CPO of the new model. From what I've read this thing is a beast. Any SUV that can keep with most of the sports cars out there is a winner in my book.

Hey, I have driven the NEW Cayenne Turbo S on PPIR in August. 500 HP! It is the HEAT!! OMG!!! Got to ride along side a test driver and that car will out run many cars!

The older Porsche sucks compared to the new version. However the new one costs 102k the way I want it.

Please just get a CPO'd B8 S4 unless you have the coin for the new one.
