Should I get the "Prestige" over "Premium Plus" and what's the true diference?

Estimated Total MSRP $49,225!!!

I'm not really to concern about the resale versus trade-in, but from looking at this board, most A5 owners tend to go for the premium plus. Is it really worth it or for this price, should I be looking at an entry level S5?

Hey you're in my neck of the woods. It's really a matter of what you want. You get things you can't get on P+ by going prestige like side assist and advance key. You also can't get an S-line Premium Plus. So if it's S-line you want you know the answer. As for Premium plus versus Prestige, not many dealers stock Prestige cars and many people impulse buy.

I think the advanced key/DVD (with side assist, if memory serves)/sound system make the Prestige package worth it. Sure they will knock a few grand off the MSRP otherwise keep walking.

I opted for Premium Plus + Nav + Sport Package

My reasons:
-I'm not an audiophile, so the stock system is more then enough for me (just took delivery a couple weeks ago and its great!)
-Advanced Key is not a big deal to me
-To me the only reason to get Prestige was to get S-Line but after comparing prices and looks, I think the Sport Package looks just as good at a much more reasonable price.

my one thing I don't like about premium plus...my silver interior pattern looks a tad cheap, prestige automatically gives you piano black trim I believe which is drop dead sexy IMO.

Oh and if it helps my MSRP was 46k and change.

Thanks everyone. Still waiting to hear back from dealer on what he has been able to locate. I would prefer the premium plus in black on black based on price and my needs, but if all he can find is the prestige... then it is what it is.

Just don't tell your dealer that. BTW just order the car from the factory the way you want it, mine came in 2 monthts, it was the longest 2 months of my life but well worth it!

cool option if multiple people drive the car for the OP, but if your the main driver, the seats stay in place every time without it, was an easy call to cut costs for me.

The cost was the reason I didn't get it, but the Audi seats are tough to get back into their original position. If you have another driver, valet or even the dealer service people messing with the seats then it's an option to consider.

btw OP good luck "locating" anything, I had to order mine from the factory and I think that is the case for most people. This car is sold out everywhere.

If you're going to spend 50k, at least check out the S5, just to be sure...I got mine for 54k (took delivery last week).

And yes, building it the way you want is WELL worth it!

Just got off the phone with my ATL dealer as he was racing to a lot to view "my" A5... if all goes well, this is my new ride!!!

...turns out that "everything happens for a reason!" This guy just purchased the car and then found out his wife was pregnant. He immediately traded it in for a Q5. My fiancee is getting the 2011 black on black s-line Q5 as well, so we should pick up our cars within the week. I wanted it brand new, but with just 1500 miles on it, I'm cool with it. If my iPhone app (#B2FS) ever gets the proverbial a.ok from Paypal and Apple, I'll be upgrading to an R8 soon after. Looking forward regardless to the new ride. Sharing photos and making friends. Here's my 1999 Audi A4. My buddy calls it a moon buggy because I never dropped it. It served its purpose and it will be missed... LOL!

Naw... it's an app that helps authors get their books get investor to help turn their book into a film. I make money from selling the app and pennies on the dollar from those that invest. It's a million dollar idea for sure...

As for the car, I'm getting a 3% UPS corporate discount on top of the $1500 reduction on price by dealer. Dealer is suggesting tire and wheel insurance but if I plan on getting aftermarket rims before the end of 2011, is it worth it!!! ?

Exactly my rationale when I recently placed my order. Unless you want everything offered in the Prestige the P+ with some additions is more cost effective.

I was trying to upload this image from my iPhone. I guess I didn't do it quite right. Then I was going to uploaded from my laptop at the Ritz Carlton hotel our dealer hooked us up with for the night, but they wanted about $12 for an hour of Internet service. You have to upload it to the Internet somewhere-somehow (facebook, flickr, etc.) Those photos are also on my facebook page, so I just copied that link and inserted.
