Does anyone have pictures of 35% tint on a black a4 or black a5, it would be greatly appreciated. Tried searching but I have had no luck. Thanks in advance!

I had 15% all around on my B7 and that was kinda too dark. My friend has 5% in the back and 35% in the front and 35% seemed too light, so I went ahead and got 20% all around on my B8 and it's just perfect imo, not too dark, not too light. I'd take a picture, but the car's dirty as sin right now.

I'm sure there are other people here with similar setups who won't mind posting a pic.

I went 27% fronts, 5% rears. My car is white which changes the look, but at least you can see how dark the fronts are. And ceramic is the only way to go in my opinion. Summers get hot in Sacramento and the ceramic make a huge difference.

Where'd you have it done? Rocky Mountain? They're the only place in Sac I can think of that does ceramic. There's some good shops in the Bay Area that do Huber Optik though.

Go as dark as you state will allow and try to match all around for consistency. 35% looks great and is not to dark at night.

HA! Don't you love California? That's why I did 50% on the B6 S4, and now have done 50% on the B8. I just got it finished yesterday...pics to come.

    Here's the 50% on the B6

Is that 15% all around? It doesn't look very dark in the 1st pic. Was your sunroof shade open?

I think 15-20% looks better at daytime but too dark at night. 35% is just right IMO day and night

A word of caution, especially re my Post #3 here - note the pic was taken facing upward about 10 AM PST in May
IMO tint effect can change dramatically based on amount of sun, the angle we're looking at (down, up, straight),
what our states allow for tint, and probably most importantly, the color of our ride.
Add in the high sun states - Florida, Texas, Arizona, where these folks want 20% or less for cooling effect
Not a whiz bang easy solution - suggest start at 35% then go up/down depending on your/our conditions
    Cheers

hi guys. i am planning to put some tint on my car. in my province we can only do the 3 windows in the rear legally. what tint would look nice on an ibis white considering i cant tint all around, and what % would start obstructing my visibility. also this is a stupid question but would the tint help with people with crazy hid lights that blind me when i look at the rearview mirror

i had tint on my old car, and took about 8 months to get it on the a4. what a difference it makes with the lights behind you. it's a must for that reason alone!!

Your car looks great with the tint! Did you do a 35% tint to your car or a 50% tint to make the tint on the windows 35%? because I believe our a4 windows are tinted from the factory slightly . If you could let me know I would appreciate it.

I have 13% I've had 35% before and I felt it just wasn't dark enough so this time I went darker and I'm very happy.

20% is quite perfect for me, it give it a nice sporty look and contrast to the ibis white, as well as being fairly visible at night.

These cars are too classy to go darker than 35% IMO...35-50% is perfect to me depending on how dark you want.
Ceramic is the way to go and make sure you do the windshield too for maximum heat rejection. Also highly recommend using the same % tint for all windows except the WS because it looks tacky with different % on the front side windows. My roommate has a Brilliant black B8 with 35% on all windows except 80% on WS and 45% on sunroof...I've posted the pics here many times and there should be some under my profile picture poster....

If you go to a good tint shop, they can explain the differences between films as some appear darker or lighter and have different colors when you compare the same percentages...

I went with FormulaOne Pinnacle (ceramic) 35% all the way around, though nothing on the windshield - I want to keep it legal. Going into it I was concerned it would be too dark, not for aesthetics but for visibility esp at night. It turns out to be very easy to see through the side windows. The back window is a little dark plus there's some bending of light due to the defoggers pushing the film but no big deal. Aesthetically, it's a touch darker than I'd probably prefer esp with black interior - I get a lot of questions asking if it's legal - but overall I like it a lot.

    35% tint on Phantom Black

Here is another 35% tint job. I will add a couple things I have learned about window tint. First, the more windows you have, the lighter the tint will look regardless of the tint percentage (e.g., the 35% tint on my A4 looked a lot lighter than the 35% tint on my wife's old Mazda RX8). Also, if you have never driven with tinted windows, it does make driving at night more difficult. 35% isn't too bad at all, but I used to have 10% on my old Mustang and driving at night was terrible.

I find 35% tint alittle light but we only can use it if we want the car to pass roadworthy test

I have the same tint as a4_bob on a phantom black b8. 35% i think is perfect on a black/black car, at night i can see out but sometimes its hard to see in. i know if i went any darker i would get pulled over in PA. Only saving grace is knowing all of my local cops and they know my car :) i can take pictures later if need be? Car is filthy though
