Has anyone been able to change their lane change signal light from 3 to say 4? I find that 3 is just not long enough and when I double tap the signal light 6 is a little much.

so just got the cable and I know that I want to disable the turning signal blink thing, and I want my windows to all roll down by using the key fob. is there anything else a you would recommend for an Audi noob? I ask because I don't understand what a lot of the things in the list mean.

I have a 2013 Audi S4 prestige fully loaded bla bla bla so any recommendations, and please explain what they do if they aren't obvious.

I have read most of it, thanks for the info though!

guess what I am most confused about, since i haven't hooked up to the car/computer yet, is which actually would apply to my s4 opposed to like an earlier model. I'll figure it out though either way, thanks again.

It should all apply to your vehicle, none of it was removed if anything a few other options may have been added, which I doubt at this point.

Their are some that don't work but only like 1 or 2. But most all of them work on the B8.5 S4. I did most of them to mine. You have to do a few other steps to some if you have MMI which i believe you have. Most of them are straight forward. And if your computer savvy and can catch on fairly easy you will see and learn VCDS quickly. Some things a little tricky like the green menu for the MMI with the button presses. But if you need any help I'm like 5 min away from you. I can always help you out. Do you have a ross-tech cable ?

Yes I have Ross tech that I borrowed from a fellow marine that no longer has an s4 and lives rather far away. Would you be down to get together soon?

Dim LED wink on turn signal for US cars

Instead of complete wink off, there is another mod that comes as stock in Europe. There is an LED dim instead of wink.

    Starting with factory setting:
    Central Electronics 09 -> Coding 07 ->Long Code helper
Byte 02 - Check bit 6 (Side Marker as DRL)

If you have already eliminated the winking, the you will need to go to Byte 03 and undo the modification. In other words, the winking DRL options (Bit 7) will need to remain checked/on as it was in the factory setting.

Disable bulb error message with LED reverse lights installed
    Steps:
    1. Module 46 Central Convenience > Security Access 16 > 16017 (use this access code, not the one the ross-tech suggests)
    2. Adaption 10 > Channel 181 >Read

The value you get is 65535 (at least that was mine). When you convert that to decimal it comes out to 1111111111111111. Bits 8,9,10,11 code for the reverse lights (1111RLRL11111111) so when you convert them it becomes 1111000011111111. Convert that back to binary and it becomes 61695

Dim LED wink on turn signal for US cars

    Starting with factory setting:

Byte 02 - Check bit 6 (Side Marker as DRL)

If you have already eliminated the winking, the you will need to go to Byte 03 and undo the modification. In other words, the winking DRL options (Bit 7) will need to remain checked/on as it was in the factory setting.

    1. Module 46 Central Convenience > Security Access 16 > 16017 (use this access code, not the one the ross-tech suggests)

So to access this I need to buy the license for the VCDS software from Rosstech and also a cable? Which cable works with our B8 S4 and which software is necessary?

You need the Can + Hex usb and the cable has the license in it. It comes with a serial number imbedded in the hardware the software picks up and you are good to go. The software is free you just need a legit cable to use it. The fake cables work but only with legacy software and can't use the updates.

i picked up a used 2010 S4 and have a VAGCOM cable on order due to arrive this monday. however, i just realized that the needle sweep is activated, and the wink feature is disabled. just need someone to sanity check my opinion that the prior owner probably made these changes as this is not the stock configuration.

am i correct in this assumption?

cant wait to start playing around with the cable! first thing on the list is the 3G+ MMI upgrade!

Maybe it wasn't on the A4. I dunno just stating what i read before. Guess i was wrong ohwell. But the non winking is not factory. I think the winking is weird but i think probably has something to do with lighting laws in the states.

    Here's how:

    Enable DRL
    [09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 2
Bit 1 = DRL via Front Side markers
Bit 2 = DRL via High Beams

Bit 4 = DRL via LEDs
Bit 6 = DRL via Side markers
Bit 7 = DRL via Tail lights

do you want to run the with the DRL and fogs only? You just put the switch to the position past auto to the right (parking) and turn on the fog lights.

I think he wants to control the fog lights independently from the headlights. I know the B5 and B7 you could do that. I think he wants to turn on the fogs with just the drl's on without parking lights on.

What he wants can be in the B8/8.5, he just has to look at the instructions/list and it's right there. :)

yea but thats just having the fogs come on as drl's not being able to push the fog button and have them come on regardless of headlight switch position. Thats not what he said the way i take it.

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the "anti-stall" feature via VCDS? I haven't read anything indicating this is possible, so I assume the answer is NO, but would like to confirm.

PAH! i didn't even think about the fact that they would be considered DRL... but I'm pretty sure thats wha I'm looking for, like the parking brake - LED lights on, fogs on.

so, thank you everyone for clarifying that for me i jus having trouble processing the DRL thing because at first i was jus thinking that i wanted to run the fogs independently.

Was there a work around for this? I have the same problem.

... may have found the solution. Now to try it out.

And, yes. It worked. I had to follow the instructions I've pasted in below before I could change channels 63-66. Charisma was enabled (step 1), but other part needed changed (step 2). From the other thread:

"for MMI 3G go to the secret menu, Select "Car" menu, Select “cardevicelist”, scroll down and check Carisma.
Now, go back, and still in the "Car" menu, select “carmenuoperation”. Scroll down to Carisma. It will be set to 0 you will change it to 1 then push the scroll wheel to set it.
    Restart MMI."

Anyone knows if we can have Unlocking Confirmation with LED DLR instead of just turn signals ?

OP - can I suggest you add that you need to enable it in the MMI settings for this one?

Enable Remote Operation Windows and Sunroof
    [46 - Cent. Conv.] [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] Byte 2
    Bit 2 - Set to 1

Many people do the VAG-COM coding but then it doesn't work without doing it. May be helpful to have that right in the instructions.

Also - for this one: Enable Optic rear parking for cars without front parking sensors
Does the picture appear on top of the backup camera or does it replace the video feed of the backup camera?

My DRL's turn on when I unlock. They don't blink but they remain on. This is an MMI setting if you don't have it enabled.
