Battery Replacement Options

I want to replace my battery and would like to know what the best (relative term) battery for an '07 RS4 is? Keep in mind i'm in Toronto so I would need something that can handle the cold winter temps.

Deka, Optima, Braile, OEM, or you could just go with a good ol' Sears DieHard ;)

I don't believe you can get the DieHard Platinum (the only one I'd ever bother with) in our size.

Just find one with the max cold cranking amps (CCA).

I was kidding I wouldn't put Sears anything in an RS4....

Dparm BTW, I do beleive the S and RS use slightly diff batteries right? IIRC, could be dead wrong though...

The DieHard Platinum is actually a very good battery. It's an AGM and can handle a lot more abuse. In general the choices for our goofy batteries is somewhat limited. I've got a nice list of what's out there ** will post it when I get home tonight.

I would not get an Optima.

That would be great. My battery is getting the job done now I just don't want to get stuck in a parking lot when it's minus 20 degrees celsius trying to find someone to help me boost the car. I figure being a little cautious now and a good replacement will save me headaches in the future.

This is for S4. I don't know how different the RS4 is but in general the core battery tech is what counts.

The AGM batteries (East Penn, for our cars) handle vibration and harsh conditions better. Probably overkill for us. The CarQuest battery seems to be the best deal for the S4 but that's really splitting hairs. All of these should be available locally; East Penn sells direct but there are only one or two locations in major metro areas. No clue what it's like in Canada.
