    Sprint Booster Review

My buddy had one sitting in the shop, so he let me toss it in to try it out.

It does exactly what you think it's going to do. Makes the throttle more responsive and makes the power much more available. Yes, you could just "push the pedal farther down and get the same result" - as you've seen on many forum reviews - but it's more practical than i thought. It's not over-sensitive, it just removes that little dead-zone in the throttle. Example - you're going 40mph on a city road and want to pass a car - little bit of throttle, and the revs jump up and you fly around without really thinking about it at all. On the highway, just the weight of your foot throws you past people to pass. It's NOT an ECU obviously, but it's pretty fun. It's only $300.. so it really depends on your financial situation. If you have $300 to play around with, i think it's an interesting little mod. I'm def going to keep it in, at least until i get the APR tune.

you're going to want to keep it in even with the apr tune.... I still have the dead zone in my pedal (yeah, our cars are different, but the drive-by-wire is all the same), and most likely will be making this my next purchase to cure it.

    Now about finding 300$.......hmmm

Glad to hear you tried it out. The Sprint Boosters are awesome for the money and greatly improve drivability.

Maybe I need to try this out myself, but I still fail to see the point.

Honestly, it does not do the same thing. After having owned a S4 with ADS and now the same car with Sprintbooster - Dynamic mode seems to change the transmission behavior (shift points, holding revs) a lot more than affecting the throttle response. My estimate would be that Dynamic mode affects the throttle about 30-35% as much as Sprint Booster. It's not what everyone is looking for - but if you want the car to be considerably more responsive and feel much more instant available power - then this is indeed a great mod.

SoundBlazers in Coral Springs, FL. My buddy Sammy stocks them.

You can order them at sprintboostersales.com though

I had a sprint booster on my Mercedes C32 AMG, it definitely wakes up throttle response (not good for gas mileage around town). I took mine off, after my Renntech ECU, tune, headers, intake and pulley, since the traction control was constantly kicking in. On the S4, with AWD, this should be a problem. It is harder to drive subtle with the sprint booster on. It is a lot of fun though. Also, there is a manual version and automatic, generally get the automatic for DSG. The manual one is very aggressive.
