R8 vs LFA

Found this earlier today and thought it was kind interesting to watch even though the guy they got to drive the R8 is a tool. I'm as big an audi fan as anyone here but I was sure the LFA would be significantly better than the R8 in any comparison they could think of but I was pleasantly surprised. The R8 held it's own and even "won" some of the races but judging by the small margins I'm sure with repeated tests the LFA would have come out on top. There is no arguing that the LFA is better on paper but if you bring price into this the R8 does a damn good job and I would pick it hands down over an LFA especially when you compare the looks.

I too would pick an R8. I dont care for Lexus (Toyota) as a whole. I dont care for the 350z looks of the LFA... and for the price of it, i could have 2 V10 R8s... or 1 thats a lot faster. also, in everyday life... AWD>RWD.

the lfa is way overpriced a gtr barley lost to it in the quarter mile and the gtr is about 5 times cheaper

i love how they said the lfa is known as the number one super car built to date, and the audi was right there with it the whole time and beat it in many aspects. I want to see someone drive the LFA in the winter....not happening/going anywhere

Nice video, basically a tie but with over $200k price difference = big win for R8. Only thing I liked better on the LFA was Carbon Fiber steering wheel, but I fixed that by putting on PPI wheel.

I agree 100% only watched it for the R8. I tried watching another episode and they just do the exact same thing over and over. Makes me want an R8 even more. Maybe in 30 years...

I will say I love the gauge cluster on the LFA, the exhaust note and engine are pretty amazing. I'd still take an R8 V10 eight days a week over the lexus. Especially with an Underground racing turbo kit!

I'd take the R8 any day over the Lexus. That is just an insane price tag for a not so "Super" supposed Supercar.

As expected, but glad to see the r8 hold its own (hate how they kept calling it the r8 fsi) against a car that was 300lbs light and had ~ a 30 hp advantage

I'm sure it does. IDK why but I just don't like the sound of V10/V12's. I'de probably chose a v8 r8 over the v10 just because of that.. well.. maybe:/ I dunno

I am also a big fan of Audi R8 and agree that cost wise R8 is far better than LFA.Also R8 is faster by 0.9 mph than LFA

There are quite a few design elements of the LFA that I found down right UGLY. Only people who will buy an LFA are collectors and maybe rich Japanese guys who want to represent Japan's Supercar.

The LFA is great, but very over priced. Absolutely, the R8 v10 is a beast, but the R8 with the v8, just doesn't have enough balls. R8 v10>LFA>R8 v8

Anyone else also think about the weight? Tanner Foust is tiny!!! He's got to weigh at least 30lbs less than the guy in the Audi. Weight makes a difference ;)

I would buy an LFA but I'm not a collector nor a rich Japanese guy who wants to represent Japan's Supercar. I'd buy an LFA because it's an awesome car.
