    Adhesive for door seals?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just noticed the seal on my right rear door is coming off. It was actually sticking out of the car when I shut the door. It's the black, soft kind of rubbery material glued to the inside of the door frame (on the part of the door that swings open). I could just take it to the dealer but I'm sick of their minimal 1-day turnaround for even the simplest of problems.

Can anyone here recommend an adhesive product I can use to get it to stay in place? What would the dealer use? Thanks!

Go to the dealer, don't MacGuyver it at home, this is a warranty issue, and if you muck around with it and it doesn't work they likely won't touch it later.

3M makes a good auto weatherstrip adhesive, but this is really something you should have your dealer do.

    This!

The B8 A4 and S4 door seals suck big time. They don't like to stay on usually at the bottom of the door frame. I use some spray trim adhesive when I replace those seals because I have had brand new door seals come off in a week after replacing the old ones, for example. Audi even added a special line to the Pre-Delivery Inspection paper work for the door seals because so many have come loose.

Talk about deja vu. I (like many others) had a door trim strip issue on my BMW 330ci (E46) and went several a bunch of HPFPs on my 335i. Now I go to audi and have to worry about door seals and (water) pumps again. Guess some things never change.

Anyway, I second the 3M weather strip adhesive (black) that is the only thing that survived on the 330 in the St. Louis heat but at that point I was out of warranty so I would try that route first as others have suggested.
