Need an OEM windshield. Any suggestions?

My windshield is cracked pretty bad and im looking to get it fixed soon. My insurance will cover it but only if its OEM glass so Safelite is out. I really dont want to go to a dealership if I dont have to.

Couldn't you have the insurance buy the glass from the dealer and have someone else install it?

Going to Safelite Iliff Aurora location in 30mins to get windshield changed for $231. I had them check their warehouse to ensure they use Sekurit St. Gobain glass, which is a main Audi OEM supplier. My B6 A4, still running the original OEM windshield, has the Sekurit label under the Audi rings. Have heard after-market brands like PPG can appear warped and non-ideal curvature/fit. Old Guy and others on forums have recommended sticking with Sekurit brand, so I'll let you know how it goes after install. My deduct is $250 and have no windshield clause, so I'm not claiming it.

Colorado absolutely kills our windshields on a rather frequent basis, so if we have at least one local Safelite that is able to swap out windshields using OEM supplier for $231, I'm a happy camper. Hope this info helps.

I think I paid 150 for mine. PPG glass. You should give Matt Collins (Weeder) a call at M&M Auto Reconditioning and he will help you out.

I used safelite and it was covered on my A4 after I washed it in the sun. Shitty thing was two weeks later I left my car down by DU to prevent a DUI and I found a brand new windshield with a fuckin bowling ball size rock sitting right in the middle of it. Bastards!

Safelite here also....it took about a week to get the OEM windshield from the dealer because there wasn't a non OEM available, but it was worth the wait.

Awaiting another replacement. 1st one they installed has about 1" of distortion along bottom of windshield. It was OEM supplier glass (St Gobain Sekurit), so they are waiting on a different batch # of Sekurit from another local Safelite location. Told me they do get bad factory batches from time to time, but fit and finish was perfect. Looked OEM. Will update again when everything is settled. The Iliff location has been very helpful.

Got the 2nd one installed today. I can't see how it gets any better than this. Absolutely flawless. Recommend Iliff guys... you tell them about my Audi situation, they'll get you figured out 1st time through.

This goes for all AZ members looking for Sekurit OEM glass via Satelite installers. Per the local installer, he stated the batches made in Mexico have proven superior quality in comparison to the Columbia molds.

Here is info on my window (Mexico mold)...will help them locate flawless quality grade in Denver area warehouses:
