    10w30 in my 2006 A4 2.0T...?

I did my first oil change in my 2006 A4 2.0T (40k) and as I had 5 quarts of Mobil1 10w30 hanging around I dumped that in it. It was only when I was checking the manual for the refil quantity that I noticed it recommends 5w30 (regardless of climate) with other options of 5w40, 0w40, etc. but nowhere does it allow a 10w oil. Just how sensitive are these engines to non-recommended grades...? Should I dump it out as soon as I can and refil with the specified grade or am I just being a little over-protective...? The car is garaged over night but we can get some pretty cold winters up here in NH.

BTW... I've done hundreds of oil changes across a whole range of vehicles over the years and never have I experienced a more convoluted pain-in-the-ass oil change as this one... Vorsprung Durch Indiotik if you ask me...!!!

i personally havent heard of the wrong oil type destroying an engine or causing it to cease up but since we have a turbo and our engines run very hot, i'd say get it changed out, I'd hate to hear the first evidence of wrong oil change engine damage
