Looking for Quality Audi Mechanic Recommendations for Sacramento Area

Hey guys, my 2003 2.7 A6 is is in need of some serious work and while I've always gone to the dealer and had good luck, the car is no longer under warranty and they are quoting me close to $3,000.00 for a timing belt, cam seals, valve cover seals and cam plugs. I want to try some other smaller shops to save a few bucks but the few shops I've been to that specialize in Audi I just cannot bring myself to leave my car there. They look a mess. Cars everywhere and not nice cars like mine. Call me crazy but I'm about to go ahead and just let the dealer do so I don't have to worry about my car getting some other type of damage while the motor work is done. Does anyone have a nice clean shop that does good work. I'd be willing to travel a bit if I have to.

They know what's up, are very well priced, and you can trust that they'll take care of what you need with a minimum of drama.
Their shop is packed, but it's like a candy shop- you'll enjoy being there.

They're doing the tuning on my allroad.

Freddie's shop is called East County European. He's worked on my car a couple of times, and I'd go back there again for any future work. Since you're in Sac, you may also want to check out 2Bennett in Davis.

My dads friend is a mechanic and owns his own shop on Fulton.

Last year he did Timing Belt, Water Pump, and other small parts (pulleys and etc) for around $500.
