Im due up for my 15000 mile check up and live about 200 miles from an Audi Dealer. I was wondering if I can get an oil change somewhere locally or do you guys reccomend me going to an Audi Dealer. I got my 6000 mile maintenance from Audi.

I believe you can, as long as you keep a detailed record of when and what was done, preferrably by a reputable independent shop. Also, I would recommend that you ask them to use OEM Audi filters, if for anything, just to avoid possible issues in the future.

i'd recommend doing it at the dealer because at 15,000 miles its more than just an oil change.

I go to a local VW dealer (aftermarket friendly) for maintenance work.
I don't want any audi dealer voiding warranty because of my mods.

Ask them. If they want your business, they will find a source to get one. They will charge you for it anyway, so it will not be a cost issue with them, it is just matter of them willing to or not.

Do tell. I was under the assumption it was oil change, air filter, (maybe) cabin filter at most.
Plus an 'inspection' of all points on the car.

I just got my 15K service here in Germany from the local Audi Dealership and the Euro rate sucks but, it is more than just an oil change. $227 Euro is about $324 USD!!!!

If that makes a difference, it is my understanding that Audi Service Centers remove the old oil out of the dip stick tube. I saw that in the Audi Sevice Manual. Non-Audi service centers may use the oil pan drain hole.

I don't think using the dipstick tube is the best way to remove the dirty oil, but I guess that it is good enough for Audi. I hope that all the impurities (at least most) are suspended in the oil instead of dropping to the bottom of the oil pan, to remix with the fresh oil... The oil filter better be really good...

Then you've got TSB's and RVU's that independent shops have no clue about. Software updates. And not to mention these cars are complex. The guys in the shop are more than just mechanics now, they're technicians. Just because you can turn a wrench doesn't mean you can work on a car like this. Cars are getting to the point now where independent shops down the road are going to need some serious money to work on them.

Should have gone for the Audi Care plan when you bought the car. Rolled mine into my lease.

Service is pre-paid at a slightly lower cast...AND you get a loaner car while your car is in for service. I'd recommend going back to the dealer also.
