BBS CH Black or BBS CH-R "Black Edition"

Was at H20 Int'l this year and was totally diggin the BBS CH-R Black Editions on the NGP RS4. The wheel/ride hight is exactly what I am looking for. Just trying to figure out what the difference is between the CH Black w/polished stainless lip and the CH-R Black Edition?

Both look almost identical in same diameter pics aside from the white lettering. Researched all over and cannot find any info that can answer my questions. Looking to get 19x8.5 ET35 with a 245/35 tire. BBS does not yet have the 2010 application guide posted. Spoke with an authorized BBS rep and told me that both models are now available in 19x8.5 with a 5x112 bolt pattern. The CH Black are available in a 35mm offset while the CH-R's are available in 32, 40, 48mm. He did not have info about the differences in weight. I know the CH 19" weighs 27lbs...ouch! The difference in price is $50 a wheel with the CH-R's going for $660 a piece.

The only guess I have is that they have different weights and maybe construction castings?

    CH-R Black

    CH Black Edition

I can't tell you spec differences but the CH-R is definitely a better looking wheel and I think it's more noticeable if you look at the silver versions. You can definitely see the spoke split is farther up on the CH-Rs and the overall center of the wheel is smaller reducing that bubble look of the CH wheel. If CH-Rs are def coming out in a 19x8.5 I will be interested for sure, been in love with them ever since I saw an S5 on the 20's right when they came out.

CH-Rs I think look better and since CH's came stock on some S4's, they will set you apart more.

Thanks for posting working pics..my bad. Yeah i see what you are saying in terms of the fork split width from center. Was thinking it was due to the CH-R being a 20" in the photo and the CH being smaller diameter. Hope the CH-R's look like that in a 19" size?

if you look at the center holes, the middle design is different. ch-r is more aggressive.

I miss my ch's, killer wheels...i want the black edition as well.

The spokes are scalloped out on the CH-R's supposedly making them lighter etc.

Love the blacks. It just sucks that they are something like $670 for a 25lbs cast wheel. They need to change their name to BB$!
